White's Beach on Lake Champlain has frozen over (comparison photo is from September)

Note: White's Beach was named after the White Family.
The town recently considered changing the name
so it wouldn't sound exclusive.
They decided to honour the town's good forebears
and just be inclusive.

    2. Last night I saw where a case of mumps has been recorded in southwestern Virginia, where my dad is from. Don't know how widespread this may be throughout Virginia, but it is bad news anyhow.

There is a shortage of top notch air traffic controllers. If you have retired, but are open to returning to work, please consider doing so.

  7. Federal workers who are fired allegedy for poor performance cannot receive unemployment benefits unless their claim is adjudicated. Most of the workers fired had great reviews; so Vermont is staffing up to quickly handle more adjudications! Yay, Vermont!

Will fired federal workers in Vt. be eligible for unemployment benefits?

    1. I certainly hope they will be able to get copies of their performance reviews, and in a timely manner.

    2. I imagine that coworkers still in place will help with that.

  8. NH*Daughter-in-law has been named the first recipient of WZID's 20 Outstanding Women for 2025. She is an artist who offers gallery space to other artists every month, at her studio, Mosaic Art Collective; so that everyone, even unknown artists who have never shown their work can be seen and sell their work. She is dedicated to the wider community of artists in NH, and has worked so hard to make her dream a reality. Some of you also know her as the illustrator of Wil’s Oz book.
