DOGE (Heather Cox Richardson pronounces it "Doggy")

Billionaires have enough money to do nothing else but
spend it all day every day for the rest of their lives,
and they still wouldn't blow through it all.
But they still want more.

Somebody tell them that the 1980's game
"the one who dies with the most wins"
was about lawn ornaments, not money!

  2. This is a video clip worth watching. I don't know if you have to have a Facebook account to get it to work. Try popping it into your browser.

    1. My old facebook account is not active. When it asked me for my password, I just clicked through and could read the text as I watched the video.

We should all start texting each other like old time explorers:
"Dearest friend, I have survived another week. The horrors persist."

“”CNN: “Two prominent GOP senators, Sen. Roger Wicker of Mississippi and Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana, criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin and seemed to break with President Donald Trump over negotiations in the peace deal to end the war in Ukraine.”

  7. DOGE says it’s saved $55 billion; data show much less
Bloomberg: The federal cost-cutting effort dubbed the Department of Government Efficiency says it has saved $55 billion in federal spending so far, but its website only accounts for $16.6 billion of that.

And that’s before factoring in an error in the data published on DOGE’s website that mislabels a contract as $8 billion, which was later corrected in the federal database to only be $8 million. That cuts nearly in half the total of DOGE’s itemized savings, including from contracts and leases, to about $8.6 billion. -- nordy

  8. Trump calls Zelenskyy a dictator amid fears of irreconcilable rift

Guardian: The US and Ukraine appeared to be heading towards an irreconcilable rift after Donald Trump escalated his attacks on Volodymyr Zelenskyy, calling the Ukrainian president “a dictator” and warning that he “better move fast” or he “won’t have a country left”.

The US leader’s comments on Wednesday, which were rife with falsehoods, came after Zelenskyy said Trump was “trapped” in a Russian “disinformation bubble,” following Trump’s claims that Ukraine was to blame for Russia’s 2022 invasion, remarks that echoed the Kremlin’s narrative. -- nordy

    1. Trump doesn't have the brains God gave a goose. Maybe he did once upon a time, but certainly not now.

    2. DT is really losing his faculties. Muck doesn't know how our government works. And the Clown Cadre that has been confirmed by the Senate just completes the circus. If they weren't stealing our data, and insulting the whole world in our behalf, they might just be laughable.

  9. From the article:

In the royal MAGA court, “Christian” isn’t a term that describes someone who is a follower of Jesus or a member of a church. It is a privileged, protected status awarded by the Great Leader to politically useful religious people, preferably white rather than Black, and evangelical rather than mainline or Catholic or Orthodox. With this sleight of hand, Trump’s “Eradicating Anti-Christian Bias” order licenses persecution of Christian (or other) groups he declares disloyal, while permitting favoritism of white evangelical Protestants to masquerade as religious liberty.

What "anti-Christian Bias" Means For Trump
