Folks! I just signed up for this new media outlet, The Contrarian, recommended by Heather Cox Richardson. The reporters who have left the Washington Post, New York Times and other outlets, due to them recently shifting to the right, are banding together to offer news and podcasts (and humour!) in opposition to the right wing political stance. To me, this, along with 1440 (facts only news), Heather Cox Richardson's daily substack, VT Digger and a few other good sources, I feel I will know what is actually happening in our nation over the coming years. If you would like a free month's subscription to give it a try, let me know, as I can gift some free month subscriptions.
Keep us posted if you see anything notable, listener. It has been a long time since I had a high opinion of the NYT, WaPo, or WSJ. I have not forgotten the NYT's coverage of Howard's campaign, for instance. -----Alan

I guess it depends on what you mean by objective. Do you mean neutral or giving each view equal time, no matter how offbeat or dangerous it might be? Yes, the Contrarian is not intending to be that sort of objective. It is intending to expose those factions and situations that threaten our democracy.

It seems that so far there isn't any there there, but I bookmarked it and will check from time to time.

The Contrarian sounds familiar. Isn't (or wasn't) that a magazine...? Can't recall where I've heard of it before.
DeleteSounds as if there's a lot of talent at this upstart publication. I'll give it a try. -- nordy

Gosh. Seeing smoke on the horizon already feels too close for comfort.
