Baby Matilda's Baptism Candle

I was asked to decorate a Baptism candle for a baby in the church for which I did the Paschal candle.

    1. I am reminded of the old saw (from the 1950's and 1960's) that Republicans are in favor of the same things as Democrats, just not quite so much and not so fast. That sure seems to describe one of the candidates this year....

    1. When I was caring for my mother, we had a baby monitor in her room. Sounds that didn't wake her--branches on the window, for instance--had me immediately fully awake. Or her coughing, or turning. I was more exhausted during that period than ever before or since. I did think of it as half my brain staying on guard. . . .

    2. I was avery light sleeper when our children were little. These days I often don't hear Mah*Sweetie leave for work. Makes sense to me.

  3. When VT*Grand was here she got talking with me about next weekend when our grandson (her cousin) will be Christened. Her word for a baptism: Bathtism. :-D

    1. Sounds about right, listener! I remember when our daughter was young she was very familiar with where milk came from thanks to the Sesame Street music video on the subject. For a while, milk was "moolk!"
