From Thankful. . . .

Awful, awful news.

jc has passed away.

I can hardly bear to type this post. I just received this email a few minutes ago from jc's dad...

She died early Sunday afternoon on Mothers Day and has gone to join her mother and grandmother. Although Judy had not been in good health for several years, her sudden demise was a complete shock. She had had her 50th birthday on March 20, 2007.

Judy has been cremated. We request on Judy's behalf that you remember her according to your own religion or in your own way. Your prayers and good thoughts will be appreciated.

From me:

I've never known a greater soul, a brighter mind, a more loving heart, a more generous spirit.

  2. Beautiful listener. jc would have loved it.

She was always here giving loving support to anyone who needed it. My heart grieves for the loss of this special, special lady.

  9. I'm simply shocked. Never dreamed she was ill. This is a great loss for all of us--she was such a rare spirit! Probably everyone else here knew her better than I, but I always treasured any interaction I had with her.

What a rare human being...she will be a shining star in the heavens.

    AMEN.

Thank you, Dancing Donna for alerting DailyKos readers, and Thankful and Renee and Puddle and all, for being the ties that bind. My deepest condolences to all of jc's wonderful Deaniac blogmates, from a former BFA lurker.

jc, we hardly knew ya, but what we knew touched us all and made us better, from sea to shining sea. Rest in Peace, gentle soul.

  11. Thank you for the post, puddle. I saw Donna's diary up at dailyKos, so I figured I'd come over here, which is kind of like a living room for all unapologetic Deaniacs (and that's awesome).

This news is terribly, terribly upsetting to me. I've been meaning to write to jc for over a year, ever since I tried her barley pilaf recipe in the Trollhouse Cookbook (we eat that dish all the time now).

I have a couple of T-shirts she designed, and still have a couple of bumperstickers she did just for me.

What an amazing woman. What a terrible loss - the world won't be the same without her.

I assume someone has told Howard, right? He should know.

  12. I had no idea, and I'm speechless. I never met JC outside the blog. But I aways felt a connection. Her opinions were for me some of the highest order. An independent spirt who I respected and was found to call a fellow Deaniac.

Peace on earth good will to humans.
