  1. Canada and Mexico tariffs risk inflating US housing crisis, Trump is warned [Click] Overlooks a teensy little problem: the cost of building materials means nothing if there are not enough workers to turn them into houses. Buildings don’t build themselves, any more than fruits and vegetables pick themselves and drive to the grocery stores.

  2. I no longer take alcohol, and have been unable to find any other Canadian product to purchase. I suppose I could reset my spell checker from US to UK/Canada, but that isn't much. Symbolic, though.

    1. Well, speaking as a Vermonter, you could consider Canadian Maple Syrup. (Vermont's is better, but I won't hold it against you. Desperate times call for desperate measures.) Also, see if you can find some of their butter tarts!

    1. Rather than buy New England, might Canada merely reoccupy it? As for California, my Danish great-grandparents left their homeland (Schleswig-Holstein) to escape from the Prussians, so I'm OK with it.

    2. Whether Canada buys us (Whom would they pay?) or simply re-occupies us, I'm all in. One thing's for sure, I'd feel a whole lot safer being protected by Mounties with not only ICE but also plain clothes, masked thugs running around seizing people out of their workplaces. *shiver*

    3. My sister told me a neighbour of hers was taken by ICE. And she had a 3 month old baby. 🤬

    1. “Talk about government waste…this lawsuit is the epitome of government waste. Funny you didn’t care about inclusion until it ‘affected’ white men,” one Missourian wrote.

    1. I consider it overreacting to simply assume Trump has the power he claimes. There will be appearls and we'll see how those play out.

    2. Quite so. People's confidence in his abilities is probably very fragile.

    3. He would be considerably more dangerous if he understood how the govt. works and what the presidency actually can and can't do. Mind you, he's dangerous enough as a stupid megalomaniac and all round madman who shouldn't be let out without a muzzle. But if he were intelligent and thoroughly versed in the powers and limits of the office, IMO he'd be infinitely worse. He wouldn't make moves that can be challenged by law suits, for instance.

  6. On YouTube just now, I stumbled upon a news item from a local channel reporting on the recent incident of residents chasing away a group of masked neo Nazis, some of whom carried rifles. And, it got me thinking:

It's pretty amusing that these people who are so proud of being white men don't show their faces. If what you're doing is so righteous, then own it. Hold your head high and show your face to the world. If you aren't enough of a man to do that, then as far as I'm concerned you're no kind of master race. You're just mean, spiteful little boys who like to play dress up and make like you're big, tough bullies.

As to the weaponry: Though I know active duty and retired service members participated in January 6, I can’t help wondering how many of these particular little boys, marching around and pretending to be G.I. Joe, have served in the armed forces.
