  1. We never get trick or treaters, so Wil and I went out walking during peak time for little ghouls and pirates to make their rounds. πŸ‘» It was great fun and we even scored a couple treats ourselves...plus some fun photos of jack-o-lanterns. πŸŽƒ

Early Vote Goes Heavily for Harris

Recent polls show Kamala Harris with an advantage of 19 to 29 percentage points among voters who say they’ve already cast ballots, the Washington Post reports.

  3. From comments on politicalwire.com:

OT: Bexar County (San Antonio), TX Early In Person Voting data:

    10/31/2024: 45,215*
    Total so far: 512,402*

The asterisks are because this data comes from the Texas Secretary of State website versus Bexar County, and the SoS only updates at the time of close of business. If that's 5PM, then that's 3 hours of early voting not accounted for (voting is 8 am to 8 pm), so this number may be higher.

    1. “She’s a radical war hawk. Let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, OK?” the former president said at a campaign event in Glendale with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson. “Let’s see how she feels about it, you know, when the guns are trained on her face.”

Trump also hurled insults at Cheney, once the third-ranking Republican in House leadership, calling her “very dumb,” a “stupid person” and “the moron.”

    2. Hear it for yourself...and the commentator's reaction (which I much appreciated).
      Hear DT's remarks

    3. Can't say as I have ever before heard of a rifle with nine barrels.

    4. Maybe he is thinking of a Gatling Gun, but I think those only had an even number of barrels. But more likely he just didn't engage his brain (such as it is) before shooting off his mouth.

    5. And I'd bet on Cheney to stand her ground in such a case; draft dodger Bonespurs? Absolutely not.

Arizona’s top prosecutor told KPNX she is investigating whether Donald Trump violated state law by making a “death threat” against former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) during remarks Thursday night at an event in Glendale.

    7. Trump was referring to a nine-man firing squad.

    8. Yeah, firing squad. Some are trying to downplay his remarks as not really being a death threat. It could be taken either way...and that's the problem. He has 100,000+ supporters who'd pul our their rifles if they thought he wanted them too. I hope she has good a protection detail.

    9. OK, a nine-member firing squad makes it sound a little more sensible---- if still rank insanity. I expect she probably has a first-rate security team; I hope she also wears a bullet-proof undergarment, although I haven't noticed it.

  7. Methodists and Episcopalians will be celebrating tomorrow!
It's the Installation of a new Bishop, Thomas Bickerton, for the Methodists' Northeast district
It's the Investiture of a new Presiding Bishop, Sean Rowe, for the Episcopal Church in the United States.

I am connected to two people taking part in the Methodist service.
Also, Sean Rowe has been my best friend's Bishop in NW PA, until his election as PB of the Episcopal Church.

    1. This makes me so happy! Here in Vermont we always allow people not on the checklist to fill out an affidavit and vote. Then it's checked with the Secretary of State's office to ensure they are citizens of our town and haven't voted in another location. It all works out.
