Apparently the election worker forgot to lock the back of their truck. Oopsy!
"A driver found a box and a bag carrying early voting ballots in the middle of the road in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The driver returned the ballots to a police station, and nothing in the box and bag was tampered with, according to elections staff."
The Washington Post has now had more than 250,000 cancellations — approximately 10% of all paid circulation — since the newspaper made its decision to not endorse in the presidential race, NPR reports.
The Guardian: “The numbers are based on the number of cancellation emails that have been sent out, according to a source at the paper, though the subscriber dashboard is no longer viewable to employees.”
These cancellations are not a good thing. I understand that people want to protest, but cancellations in numbers like these mean reduced revenue for the paper. If that comes out of anyone's hide, it won't come out of management. It will come out of the salaries of the working journalists who keep the paper going and are covering many stories, including this one. -- nordy
{listener} Besos is insulated. But consumer pressure is all we have. People vote with their pocketbooks. We can cancel subscriptions and not buy anything from Amazon. Will it harm some of the little people? Probably. But we’re not the cause of the harm; that rests with Besos, and everyone knows it.
Propublica is reporting that a Texas woman died after being told it would be a "crime" under Texas' abortion law to intervene in her miscarriage. Her death was “preventable,” according to more than a dozen medical experts who reviewed the summary at ProPublica’s request; they called her case “horrific,” “astounding” and “egregious.” -- nordy

Oh great, Biden misspoke and that's the takeaway all over the media, instead of Harris' wonderful closing remarks.

I suppose you're right, listener. I just hate to see the newsroom getting hurt. -- nordy
DeleteYeah, I understand. I've never had a subscription to Washington Post, so I'm just not buying from Amazon.
DeleteRats--- I had a lot of links to post and accidentally erased the lot. Lots of news today, largely looking pretty good.
