    2. However this election turns out, it sure can be said that the Harris campaign did everything they possibly could. They did a fabulous job getting the message out!! And, they proved that it can be done in 100 days. So, let's shorten campaign season!!

    3. There was a political professional who said (I left the link some threads back) that Harris's campaign may be the best ever.

  2. Here's how we do voting in Vermont:

If you've voted in Vermont before or if you registered for the first time in person at your clerk's office, you do not need to show ID to vote.

If you're a first-time voter in the municipality who registered by mail or online, and didn't provide ID when you registered, you will need to show ID to vote. Acceptable forms include:
    valid photo ID
copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or any other government document that shows your current name and address

Voters without ID: If you are unable to provide ID, you may register in person at the polls and will need to provide your Vermont driver's license number or the last four digits of your Social Security number.

    1. It freaks me out that the early states lean more toward DT than Harris! We might not have a victory until after 1:00am or even Saturday...! ARGH!!

    2. These days we are accustomed to nearly instantaneous gratification. I don't recall which election it was, but the longest delay was in the early 20th Century, when California was the decisive state, and its results depended on the returns from one county up in the Gold Rush area. The ballot boxes had to be delivered to Sacramento on horseback. As I recall.

    3. It wasn’t the longest of all, but I must have been thinking of The election of 1916. [Click]

    4. An example of an obviously worthless poll:
The final NBC News poll shows Kamala Harris and Donald Trump neck and neck at 49% to 49% among registered voters. It is *actual* voters who count, and how did they come up with those numbers? By telephone calls? And how many of them lied?

  7. Wow, that guy is a real jerk. Sure hope we don't get that here.
But, just to say, I think they could have deescalated that better.
Still, the guy deserved to be taken into custody.

  8. Politicking, definitely including signs and clothing supporting any candidate or proposition, or opposing them at a polling place, has always (so far as I know) been illegal.
