    2. When we get a really big wind gust, the cats startle in unison.

    3. Oh, the power of wind. It's 42ºF outside right now, but with the mighty wind it feels like 22ºF...!

    4. Major freight train sound out there right now. I even felt the house shake slightly.

    1. Yep, that's pretty good. I am reminded that both Presidents Lincoln and Grant got speeding tickets without being impeached.

    2. Might we consider high crimes to be those committed while malodorous?

  4. Last night I was moved to see what Wikipedia had to say about the Banana slug [Click], a famous denizen of the far western forests. I had not realized that there were so many varieties.

    1. Blogger uncooperative at the moment, so here is a non-sequitur.

Florida school district removes dictionaries from libraries, citing law championed by DeSantis. [Click] I was moved to check the definition of “sex” in my (admittedly old) Webster’s Dictionary against the quotation in the article; there is a considerable difference between the two.

    4. Thanks, Alan. I heard we had a ten second burst of 100mph, so there's your hurricane force after all. And don't worry, we get to try again with high winds on Saturday.

Rough night up here, but we are fine. Lost power a second time around 6:30am and it is expected to be restored around 5:00pm. Had to reschedule a meeting as Zoom would be sketchy on my iPhone hot spot.

The wind last night sounded like a constant freight train plus gusts to 69mph. Our yard looks like a debris field…early Spring cleanup. Branches down and neighbours have 6 Poplars that were uprooted and landed on a parking area (no vehicles damaged). The pole at the end of our road (2/10s mi away) had wires down and the pole caught fire! Trees are down and/or on wires on many roads, so it will be awhile before things are normal here. The power crews worked all night in that mess and are still at it. So, all in all, an exciting event.

    1. Yikes! We just had some rain, not even enough to wash away all the snow, though that is beginning to look a little shopworn. Sure am glad you're all right, Listener!

    7. Thanks W.A.! Have a lot of fun!! Be careful Saturday as the next storm comes through. Won't be as rough as the one we just had, at least.

    1. What I want to know is: 1) What the hell was MTG doing with nude photos of Hunter biden? 2) What the hell made her think displaying same was appropriate at a congressional hearing? 3) Why the hell did the chairman allow such a tasteless, disrespectful, demeaning action towards the witness in his committee hearing?

Neither MTG nor Comer(sp?) have the brains or the decency God gave a jellyfish!
