  1. Santos Wants to Block Release of Bond Consigners
June 5, 2023 By Taegan Goddard

“Indicted Rep. George Santos’ attorney has filed a letter asking the judge overseeing the New York Republican’s case to keep the names of the people who put up his $500,000 bond sealed,” CNN reports.
Said lawyer Joseph Murray: “My client would rather surrender to pretrial detainment than subject these suretors to what will inevitably come.”

Bail bond companies usually charge one tenth the face value of the bond.

  2. Ukraine accuses Russia of blowing up Nova Kakhovka dam near Kherson [Click] Well, it isn’t the first time it has happened. Invading fascist forces blew it up during WWII, and now invading fascist forces are doing it again—but Russians this time rather than Germans.

    1. The inlet to the North Crimean Canal is slightly upriver from the dam; depending on how badly the dam is damaged, it could cut off the supply of (mostly irrigation) water to northern Crimea.

    2. I knew that the Khakhovka Dam was broken during WWII, but I had the perpetrators backwards—- it was ordered by Stalin to slow down the German advance. [Click]

“This morning, CBS News cameras captured on video the sight of former president Trump’s lawyers entering the Department of Justice.

“Shortly after their two-hour meeting ended, a message appeared on the Trump-affiliated social media site Truth Social, in all caps: “HOW CAN DOJ POSSIBLY CHARGE ME, WHO DID NOTHING WRONG, WHEN NO OTHER PRESIDENT’S [sic] WERE CHARGED, WHEN JOE BIDEN WON’T BE CHARGED FOR ANYTHING . . . “

I have thought ever since the reports of UFO encounters by Navy ships and aircraft off southern California that the behaviors of the “objects” sounded like robotic flying machines programmed to avoid close encounters with terrestrials.
