  2. C'mon, Mueller!!

Talk about the Fool on the Hill. DT has no respect for the Constitution or American values. American citizens have free speech. And anyway, going down on one knee is certainly more respectful than simply sitting down during the Anthem, like a prayer for the country. And definitely more respectful that speaking of firing people who protest.

    1. There's a great deal of misunderstanding not to say ignorance regarding the flag, the national anthem and patriotism, read love for, loyalty to and pride in one's country. The following article and its attendant comments show this. While I often agree in part with the young lady who wrote the article, she does often show herself to be young or naive or uninformed, or all three.

Some of the comments are quite shocking, like the one mocking the existence of flag etiquette. I can only assume such smugly spiteful disregard is a symptom of our dysfunctional educational system.

    2. Maybe there is something wrong with me, but I find nothing weird, kinky or fetishistic about any of this:

Mike Allen quoted former Clinton advisor Doug Sosnik on what President Trump is trying to accomplish by attacking professional athletes who protest during the national anthem: “One of Trump’s typical moves is to toss a bomb out of nowhere to deflect what is really bothering him, in the hopes that the press will be distracted.”

He added: “There is a good chance that the candidate he endorsed and campaigned for will lose in the Alabama Senate primary. On top of that, it looks like … another failed Republican attempt to repeal Obamacare. So he figures that the shows on Sunday focusing on his fights with professional athletes is more appealing than a discussion about how he is becoming a loser.”

A new CNN poll finds that just 29% of Americans hold a favorable view of the Republican Party.

That is down 13 percentage points from March and is the lowest mark for the GOP since CNN began asking the question in 1992.

Jared Kushner “has corresponded with other administration officials about White House matters through a private email account set up during the transition last December, part of a larger pattern of Trump administration aides using personal email accounts for government business,” Politico reports.

“Kushner uses his private account alongside his official White House email account, sometimes trading emails with senior White House officials, outside advisers and others about media coverage, event planning and other subjects, according to four people familiar with the correspondence. Politico has seen and verified about two dozen emails.”

My goodness! Isn't that what they said Hillary did? I seem to remember the Cheeto-in-Chief indicating that she should go to jail for that. What a strange coincidence.

My Mom's been gone nearly as long, puddle. 16 years. I was 46.
My Mom-in-Law died 36 years ago next month. I was 26. I have now outlived her by a year. 9 more to go to outlive Mom. We'll see.

    2. My father was born in 1911, and passed on in 1965, 52 years ago. And I still miss him. As the years have gone by he has visited me less often, but I expect he still will once in a while. I felt somewhat guilty when I outlived him, although I know he would have said that is not sensible. Still.

    3. My father died in 1950, when I was 13. It is only recently that I have come to fully realize what an outstanding man he was and to wonder what my life would have been like had he survived.

    1. Highly interesting. What if God wasn't surprised (after all, we were given free will) but grieved on our account, and something in us felt the separation and grieved?

I've also heard it said that the chief reason that women could be ordained is that they woke up and asked to be.

I've also been asked the question:
CAN Mary pray for us sinners now and in the hour of our death if we don't ask her to?

  6. Gardening muscles talking to me this evening, mostly on account of pruning a very seriously overgrown wisteria in the front yard.

After a nearly two-week layup on account of surgery, my sweetie recommenced her morning and evening constitutionals yesterday, and that seems to be accelerating her recovery. Of course we walk together when possible.

  7. But if Paul does indeed vote against it, then wooing Murkowski will have not effect. They'd need to get both her and Collins. I've also heard that other Republicans are turning against it.
