  2. Alan, what is a liberty pole? And a liberty cap?

  3. A liberty pole was (and occasionally still is) a pole erected in a public place to commemorate or memorialize liberty or revolution, identifiable by the red phryrgian cap = liberty cap surmounting it. Google Images for "liberty pole" is helpful. The liberty cap was also prominent among the French revolutionaries. Here’s a good article, with illustrations.[Click]

    1. But now the head of the DNC is Tom Perez and he worked against Bernie in the last Primary. He was the one who urged the DNC to portray Bernie as having *only* young white male supporters. I don't trust *anybody* in the DNC.

    2. Well, the threat of extinction might concentrate their attention wonderfully. Right now it seems they are still struggling to get their pea-brains around the idea that the New Democrats' day is done. The column says Bernie is still packin' 'em in, but I haven't been paying attention. I can bask in imagined images of Bernie again filling stadia while his rivals have trouble getting crowds of a few hundred...

    3. Young white males? Are you serious? No, sorry, they're the one's who are and always have been delusional.

I wouldn't trust in anything breaking through their delusions. They are far too invested in them and reality be damned. Unfortunately, every day they cling to the way they think things ought to be, Trump is cutting a broader and deeper swath, that will be harder and harder to repair.

I wouldn't give a fetted dingo's kidney if the Democratic Party self-destructed through their own navel gazing, if they weren't taking the country down with them.

  5. http://addictinginfo.com/2017/07/05/every-state-in-america-just-turned-on-trump-this-is-a-major-fck-you-to-potus-details/

    From the article:

"From day one of Donald Trump’s failure of a presidency, it was perfectly clear that the former reality television star thought he was a king and expected America to roll over and do whatever the hell he wanted. Unfortunately for the unworthy POTUS, his presidency is panning out a lot differently than he imagined, and he’s just been sent another great big ‘f*ck you’ by the United States.

Trump’s voter fraud conspiracy has just been dealt a major blow and suffered a humiliating defeat, as every single state in America is refusing to give up the voter data that Trump is demanding."

    1. Susan, the WaPo story is a good bit more meuanced and sober than the piece you linked to. Also, it's not the entire country that's refusing to comply, though an impressive forty-four states and the District. It does look, though, like the widespread noncooperation is a major blow to Trump. Every little bit helps, especially in this case where the resistance is bipartisan and based firmly on a legal foundation.

A quote from the WaPo article:
“Is it a black eye for Trump? Yes, with most of America,” Stipanovich said. “But with 35 percent of America, it is another element in the vast conspiracy to subvert America and destroy the republic. … It won’t hurt Trump with those with whom he can’t be hurt.”

    1. BTW I Can't believe we're in the second half of the year, and The Orange Menace is still in office. That's reason enough to be depressed out of one's mind.
