  2. Howard Dean is indeed first.

Belize is also first, as Hurricane Richard's eyewall impacts Belize City!

    From a blogger on Wunderground:
I heard on Belize radio that a baby was just born in Belize City after the mother was taken to the hospital during the hurricane. They're naming him Richard. :-)

  3. Phew! Glad to get here. The browser wouldn't load today's front page at first.

I knew that babies are often born during snowstorms. I suppose it's a similar situation during hurricanes. Something to do with the barometric pressure bringing on labor. Or is that a misconception?

    Err, no pun intended.

  4. Tonight working on the music for the new song. It's almost all roughed out. Now just missing part of the bridge. Usually, the melody comes to me sequentially, but for some reason this bridge is a bit tricky. It will come though.

This is a good project. There have been minor problems, but overall it is not a struggle or stressful, like some projects are, projects where I get the lyric but no melody comes, or the melody flows but no lyrics appear to co with it. This one is fun to work on.

  5. LOL! I think it's just that babies come when they come and sometimes it's during a storm. :-)

  6. It is interesting to hear about your process. I recall Paul Simon saying that the music always comes to him first and the lyrics come later. That kind of blew me away because I'm sure I'd have to have the lyrics first. Of course, I'm a writer, not a musician! 8-)

  12. It's called "Autumn Blaze" and is a cross between a Sugar Maple and a Silver Maple.
Note that the leaves are more elongated than a Sugar Maple's leaves.
The bark is smoother too, more like a Silver Maple's bark.
But the leaves are that gorgeous red.

  16. The irony is that if DeLay had lived in Illinois instead of Texas, what he did would have been entirely legal. Or to put it more precisely, there would have been no need to launder the money because the contributions would have been legal to begin with.
