  1. Howard Dean is first!

Hey, I wrote to my Rep, Peter Welch's senior aide, and she's setting up a meeting with National Nurse Teri and the rest of the NN Team for when they visit DC next month! I am hopeful that Peter will cosponsor H.R. 4601, the National Nurse legislation that got introduced the week before last!

  5. We feed the gophers gladiolus bulbs...

Off to the SF Bay Area tomorrow. Past midnight now, but I had to get a bunch of stuff prepared--files in order, a bit of research, maps made. But we don't have to get up early; if we leave by 10:00 AM we should be OK. I probably won't be checking in for a couple of days.

I've got another batch of videos coming. One should be of Howard. But, the whole process does require patience. The quilt video aborted five times before it took. The one uploading now is five minutes long and has been uploading for eight hours.

  9. Well, I thought I'd post a new photo on the front page, but it turns out that doing so creates a whole new thread.
So instead I'll post the photo here within the thread. Click to enlarge.

We have about a foot of heavy wet snow and it's still falling! It's beautiful~!!
Yesterday I canceled my morning appointment because I wasn't feeling well (ironically it was a doctor appt, but not the doc it would need to be for being sick. Ha!). Then today my afternoon appointment canceled on me (she would have had to drive an hour and a half in the storm). We also decided not to cross germs, so no granddaughter time today. I'm sad for that, but very glad that my overbooked day just turned into a Snow Day and a sick day off! 8-)

  14. yes -- 4 (Sens. Flory, Mazza, Scott and Starr)
    no -- 26

Vermont Senate has voted NOT to renew the license of Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Plant in 2012 when it comes up again for renewal. The plant is owned and run by Entergy Corporation based in New Orleans, LA.

  15. How much snow have you, Catreona?
We're up to 17.5" of heavy, packed snow and it's still falling at a pretty good clip.

  16. When the BBB went down, I set the computer to do a disk scan and took a nap. It's back up, but for me, at least, only with plain text.

Our predicted snow hasn't materialized yet. I can wait. And cheer if they're wrong.

  18. Comfortably ensconced at the Rose Garden In in Berkeley after a nice Italian dinner with Miyoko, Naomi and her roommate. I even indulged in a (single)glass of wine. Job No. 1 tomorrow morning is delayed to some other day, so we can laze about in the morning. Rainy when we left this morning, but very nice weather in the Bay Area. TTFN.

  20. That sounds so nice, Alan. I'm glad that if your workload got reduced (after all your prep) that it's the morning portion.
Enjoy the day all you can. Traveling Mercies! ♥

I'm feeling a bit better tonight. Hopeful.
