  1. Looks like the White House Brain Trust needs to invest in a few synapses. It took me maybe two or at most three seconds to see how the auto manufacturers can just breeze past this "barrier:" remove a few parts (e.g. trunk liner, spare tire, and tools, and import the cars as "kits," to be assembled in the US. That general approach has been in use since Trump was in diapers (at least).
“President Donald Trump announced new tariffs of 25 percent on cars imported to the United States on Wednesday,” the Washington Post reports.

New York Times: “The tariffs will go into effect on April 2, and will apply to finished cars and trucks that are shipped into the United States, including American brands whose automobiles are assembled overseas, and could raise prices for consumers significantly. Nearly half of all vehicles sold in the United States are imported.”

    1. I don't usually pay much attention to Axios, but for this I make an exception:
Signalgate scrambles MAGA's messaging machine [Click] One small excerpt: The Atlantic story detailing how Trump aides inadvertently invited the magazine's editor to a Signal chat where highly sensitive information about a military strike was shared has easily become the top news story of the year globally, according to new data.
A spokesperson for The Atlantic said it was "one of the top subscription driving stories" for the magazine of all time.

  3. After significant (but probably not complete) rehydration last night, my stiff and sore skeletal muscles have relaxed greatly this morning. I figure to give up caffeinated coffee, which had been my last remaining vice. I hadn't previously been aware of that as a symptom of electrolyte depletion.

    1. Alan, I highly recommend Mount Hagen fair trade organic decaf coffee! It's instant, so can be made hot or cold.

    3. That has been my choice for some years. No organic solvents used in removal of the caffeine.

    2. Yes, and that was the reason DT decided to remove Elise Stefanik from consideration for UN AMbassador...because he feared they'd lose her seat in NY. (Dang!)
