Trump and Harris Agree to Town Hall Events September 24, 2024 By Taegan Goddard
Donald Trump and Kamala Harris have both agreed to do Univision town hall events. The audience will feature undecided Hispanic voters who will ask questions of each candidate. This must be an *absolute* disaster for Trump--- worse than the "debate," I expect. Not yet clear to me if the two candidates will be on stage at the same time or not. ------Alan
Univision appears to be only in Spanish; is that correct? Vix may be in English, yet may require a subscription on Youtube. Will any of this be similcast?
Oops-- I should have thought of that. I don't see any link to an English translation on their regular news pages. I suppose that since both of the candidates are English speakers, that will be the original language of the events. TV Spanish is about like TV English-- grammar school level. My Spanish is good enough that I can understand most of it directly. -----Alan
"Both events will air coast-to-coast with Spanish-language translation on Univision and stream on ViX’s Noticias 24/7 channel and will also be available in English on Noticias Univision’s YouTube channel." ----Alan
DAVID FRUM: Trump is pre-losing. He’s losing in his own mind.
That’s why he’s desperately selling silver coins when he should be campaigning. That’s why Mike Johnson is ignoring Donald Trump’s demands and threats and keeping the government open. The speaker is keeping the government open when Trump wants the government shut.
That’s why his wife is hawking this book and that’s why he seems so depressed every time you see him. He is tasting defeat. He knows what’s happening and he can’t exert himself or mobilize himself in order to do anything.
That’s why he’s doing so few events. He’s listless, he’s lethargic, and he’s losing in his own mind. His world is crashing in on him. He’s pre-losing.
