  1. I just raised a glass of Bual Special Reserve Madeira to the new year! May it be better for everybody than its predecessor.

    1. We have a bottle of Broadbent Madeira Reserve 5 years old (when we bought it back in about 2009!).
I think we may open it when Wil retires.

  2. I actually forgot to buy wall calendars for 2021. First time that's ever happened. I expect January to be a horror show because of trump and minions but I hope that things will smooth out after that.

Anyway, Happy New Year. Hoping it's a good one for everybody.

    1. Susan, do you have any special sort of calendar you buy? We always get a folk art calendar of seasonal countryside scenes, much like you'd see in puzzles, and when we can find it we get On The Porch.

    2. No, I generally buy small calendars with lots of pictures of baby kittens or baby wild animals. At my desk I keep a Mead Weekly Planner. I used to buy Grumpy Cat and Maxine, but not recently.

    3. For keeping the days of the week straight my principal reference is my pill dispenser. Ha! This year Miyoko got a package of cat calendars at the dollar store, and it included a small one that works fine for the corkboard at my desk.

    4. I, too, use my pill dispenser to keep track of the days of the week. If I need more I use the pop-up Windows 10 calendar. Wall calendars haven't worked for me since my eyes went bad 20 years ago. Penny uses the wall calendars that charities send us. I think her favorite is the one from Alley Cat Rescue.

    5. This discussion reminds me: Don't recall getting my UConn or Xavior Society for the blind calendars. They usually come in the Fall. *shrug* It doesn't matter. If I need to know the day and/or date, it's always readily accessible on my computer or iPad.

  3. My x always does his charitable giving the last week in December. And reaps calendars up the wazoo, lol! Every year he tries to foist off several on me. I never take them. If my computer dies, I'm uppa crick.

  13. Hallo!! The privilege seems to come and go, but right now I am posting from my Chrome browser on my new MacBook Air! Hoping to get it all squared away this weekend when Youngest lends a hand (online via GoToMeeting).

    1. Could be some hacking problems at Google or whatever. But working sometimes is better than being completely out of order. I am sure it will get fixed.
