  7. Sorry I've been more hit or miss than usual here this week. I'm still the chief cook and bottle washer here at home. There have been a number of posts I read that I couldn't respond to because I was on my phone or other browser and can ONLY respond via my old computer's Chrome browser at the moment.

Can anyone here walk me through how to get my iPhone to allow me to comment as me? It doesn't recognise my handle. I assume I need to sign in to the blog again, but I cannot find a SignIn button in the upper right corner, even when I go to web view. Idears?

    1. Sorry--some day I will be in the same pickle, I think. But if you appear as anonymous or whatever it is, WE WILL KNOW YOU.

    2. I would if I could, Alan. But the darn thing won't let me post AT ALL. I have tried multiple times to publish a Test message from Anonymous or any other option, but it just DROPS it altogether! It's so weird!

    3. Oddest of all is that if I see the word SignIn at the top of the web version on my iPhone, and I click on it, so I may sign in, it just throws me into the Blogger page where one posts a new thread. From there I can go to the front page again, but I STILL cannot post or administer the blog. It's driving me batty!

We are about to make the big switch tomorrow from my old computer to my new MacBook Air. If I lose the ability to get here through my computer, we are kinda hosed. If that happens, I'll email you and puddle, so at least you'll know.

    5. Googled it. Apparently others have had this problem too. Yet none of their idears work for me. Heh.

Maybe Renee will have to make me a new admin account?

    6. Lately there have been a number of problems with e-mail and other common applications. There were reports of problems with Earthlink, and indeed I had some. In time it went away/got fixed.

  8. Via talkingpointsmemo.com: It’s official: the Trump administration will deliver 14 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine to the states by the end of the year.

Doesn’t sound to me like much of a downpayment on the seven hundred million doses we need. 14/700 = 2%.

  10. Thursday is the deadline for bids for drilling rights in the Arctic Narional Wildlife Refuge—and it may well be that no oil companies will bid. [Click] “. . .there is little indication that oil companies are interested in buying the rights to drill under difficult conditions, to extract more costly fossil fuels for a world that increasingly is seeking to wean itself off them.” Alaska’s state economic development corporation might bid.

  11. On Jan. 20th, Biden to issue memo freezing Trump administration's midnight regulations that have not yet taken effect. [Click] Given the general disorganization and incompetence of the Trump administration, I suppose there might be a significant number of those.
