Such BEAUTIFUL music in this video! [Click] The instrumental starts about a minute in, the vocal a bit later. I can recognize the language as Japanese, but don't know enough to follow the meaning.
Miyoko is unfamiliar with the music, but thinks it sounds old, and recognizes the instrument as an ancient Chinese stringed instrument. The temple is Obaku-zen, which has a stronger Chinese element than Rinzai or Soto schools, hence the large number of Chinese-like (or more accurately Ming Dynasty-like) decorative and artistic features.
In the wildness of this (Monday)!last preparation day, I did actually pop by and read and did actually wonder how Miyoko liked the music. Thanks for adding this note!
I spent the entire day at my computer completing a very important Christmas Gift for many people... our annual Grand Moments collection of funny things our grandchildren have done and said in the past year, complete with photos where applicable and available. I am exhausted and just now hitting the hay! But it’s done!!!
