Mike Flynn’s Son Is Subject of Federal Russia Probe[Click] “Several legal experts with knowledge of the investigation have told NBC News they believe Mueller, following a classic prosecutorial playbook, is seeking to compel key players, including Flynn and Manafort, to tell what they know about any possible Trump campaign collusion with Russia. Mueller has brought onto his team a federal prosecutor known for convincing subjects to turn on associates. Any potential criminal liability for Michael G. Flynn could put added pressure on his father, these legal experts said.” The old “gotcher head in a vise” trick, eh?
I had felt that Facebook’s business strategy was a real stinker, but this[Click] is exponentially more reprehensible than anything I had heard about it before. In Germany I think it would be frankly criminal.
The Empty Shell of America’s Two Party System[Click] “If Mr Trump were another person, he could orchestrate this chaos to his ends. No president has inherited better conditions to realign US politics. But Mr Trump has the attention span of a goldfish.” How dare he so denigrate goldfish! (I must say that I disagree with the writer’s opinion that we shall continue to muddle through, stuck in our current rut.)
This Is Terribly Damaging For Trump[Click] Trump’s DACA deal with Dems, that is. The fool lets his hostages go for nothing, then gives his opponents what they want? The result can only be bad or worse for Trump, no matter what happens. IMO.
I stand by my contention that the so-called “conservatives” in the GOP are not conservatives at all; they are radicals, and more specifically anarchists (without the charmingly naive good nature of a Prince Kropotkin). The reason anarchists have never formed a successful government is that political accomplishments depend upon cooperation, which is the antithesis of anarchy. My crystal ball is no better than anyone else’s, but I sure don’t see any way for the Republican Party to get itself out of this self-inflicted mess in one piece. If the GOP is tearing itself apart while being unable to do much of anything, the Dems have a chance to reorganize successfully, because their temporary weakness as their change takes place could go unexploited by the GOP.
Or maybe, just maybe, we could finally have a viable third party of Independents or Progressives!
I got a TEXT MESSAGE from Dems today. ARGH!!!! I only text with family and a few close friends. I had to explain that I am not a Dem, but a friendly Independent with Progressive leanings. The person promised to get me off the Dem list.
How could people who do not believe in government form a successful government? This is a contradiction in terms. But far from cooperation being the antithesis of anarchy, the system absolutely requires *voluntary* cooperation. Otherwise things simply fall apart.
The American political system, with a strong president elected independently of Congress, absolutely requires a two-party system. Any third party will either merge with or replace one of the two existing parties. Because there is simply no other way to achieve electoral victory.
Bill, you are giving me the impression that you think all Independents and Progressives are opposed to government. Does that mean you believe only Democrats and Republicans are pro-government? I am not "opposed" to government, and I'm an Independent. I'm chiefly an Independent because the Democratic Party has, in my view, lost its compass. But I am still active in a number of ways in my community and at the national level.
As for "electoral victory" you highlight one of my complaints! I believe the Electoral College method is outdated and should be done away with. The vision of our Founders was to have multiple parties! We have handcuffed our process with this two-party fiasco. We need only have instant runoff voting.
And the big news is... Taaa, ta ta ta, ta ta, taaaaaaaaaaaaa!! (a little fanfare here)...
I received this message from Bernie's health aide today!!!
"Hope you are well and Happy Thursday! Michaela and I are pleased to let you know that Senator Sanders is signing on! Thank you for your advocacy and patience, and please keep us abreast about ways to continue to work together. Many thanks and be well."
He is signing on to the National Nurse Act of 2017!! Whoo hoo!
Thanks! I've been beseeching his staff to ask him to cosponsor and the National Nurse folks had to do some things to make it work out. Mostly they needed a letter of neutrality toward the bill from National Nurses United (a BIG Bernie sponsor) and a letter of support from the American Nurses Association. There have been 13-14 YEARS of effort to get to this point! The bill is currently in Energy & Commerce in the House and we need it voted out of Committee!!

Flynn's son was also highly instrumental in spreading the "Pizzagate" nonsense.
