  2. http://www.truthdig.com/articles/dnc-fraud-lawsuit-exposes-anti-democratic-views-democratic-party/

From the article: "McClennen added: “The DNC is tone deaf to the fact that Brazile and Wasserman Schultz and the whole pack of insiders that didn’t hold an ethical primary should be exiled from the party, they are tone deaf to the real reasons why Trump won, and they are tone deaf to the fact that Sanders is the most popular politician and the most popular Senator in the nation. … The Trump administration’s cronyism, elitism and disregard for any semblance of democratic values has voters calling for impeachment, but the DNC has its own credibility problems—exemplified by the fact that Donna Brazile is still a party insider.”

    1. We really don't need parties anymore. Just let people run and vet them well. Let them talk to the people and let the people vote. Dump the whole middle-man thing.

    2. So you're apparently talking about a "jungle primary" like they have in California. I don't think Alan likes the idea of picking between two Republicans. I wouldn't either.

It really seems to me that party primaries are where you really get a sense of where the candidates are coming from. Although at the moment it looks like JB Pritzger is buying the Illinois Democratic gubernatorial nomination. But a jungle primary would almost certainly give us the same race between two billionaires whose main qualification is money to throw at the campaign.

  3. When I read Alan's comment on the last thread I read Democrats as Demon-crats.

    1. Except for the beginning my eye has never really bothered me, nor has my vision changed. It's those dang nerve pathways that run across my forehead, eyebrow and skull that are making me nuts. They're getting better but for a while I couldn't decide whether the pain or the itching was worse. I blame all the mountains of stress caused by the huge extra load of work my brother caused and, of course, Cheetolini and his "Hey folks! Here's your Fresh Hell of The Day!"

    2. Ouuuuccchhhh. I am well aware of those nerve pathways from having had shingles on my temple. All the harsher when it comes from the eye, I should think! I also am familiar with the pain/itching thing. My dermatologist once told me that one doesn't feel both itching and pain at the same time. She has obviously never had shingles! It's that telltale itch that also burns that is so prominent.

I'd say the stress of the latter would be the main one. The day that fool is out of office will be a day to raise a glass and a huzzah!!!

  6. Also: A former Republican Senator has suggested that Donald Trump is “sick of mind” and has asked Congress to remove him from office.

  7. That costs money, Alan. And many old house don't like getting moved. I wonder if it would even be possible. I know they've jacked up some right along the ocean.

On Nantucket Island they are having to move houses because of beach erosion. They are losing about 5ft of coast per year.

  8. DT is more power hungry than ever. He mentioned "military option" at the drop of a hat now. This time Venezuela. Who's next? We're going to be spread a bit thinly.

  9. Well, they "raised Chicago" in the 195h century, when there weren't any century-old buildings to worry about. And they didn't actually raise the buildings -- they simply built a new set of streets 15 ft above the old ones. The new building entrances were on what had been the second floor and the previous first floor became the basement. The previous basements and delivery passages were still below river level, as Chicago Discovered in the 1980s, when someone cracked open one of the tunnels under the river.
