    From the article:

The man in the white house sits, naked and obscene, a pustule of ego, in the harsh light, a man whose grasp exceeded his understanding, because his understanding was dulled by indulgence. He must know somewhere below the surface he skates on that he has destroyed his image, and like Dorian Gray before him, will be devoured by his own corrosion in due time too. One way or another this will kill him, though he may drag down millions with him. One way or another, he knows he has stepped off a cliff, pronounced himself king of the air, and is in freefall. Another dungheap awaits his landing; the dung is all his; when he plunges into it he will be, at last, a self-made man.

I love this writer she flays the hide off Cheetolini - and he deserves it!

    1. Given that the man is evidently in the early stages of Alzheimer's Disease, although his actions are what they are, he can to some degree be forgiven. But the people who voted for him cannot be forgiven for failure to recognize a bullshitter when they see one. They can be forgiven for not liking either the Republican Party or the "more of the same" candidate. And the people who have the responsibility to remove him from office deserve to suffer for failure to do their duty. IMO.

      Alzheimer's disease
n 1: a progressive form of presenile dementia that is similar to
senile dementia except that it usually starts in the 40s or
50s; first symptoms are impaired memory which is followed
by impaired thought and speech and finally complete
      helplessness [syn: Alzheimer's disease, Alzheimer's,
      Alzheimers]

    2. Wow! THAT'S an old definition. Dr. Alzheimer initially diagnosed the disease in middle-aged patients, believing it was different from what was then generally referred to as "senile dementia," but it was not so very long before it was realized that this was the most common form of dementia in older people as well.
And the synonyms don't include the medically correct terminology -- Alzheimer disease.

  3. Alan, no matter how many salt tablets you take, working on the south side of the house in extreme temps is not a good idea. Please, please be careful! Dehydration is very bad for the body! And, hey, we like you just the way you are!

    1. Thanks, listener; it is a common risk here, and one learns symptoms and treatment when attempts at prevention are not enough. Water is good, but one must replace the electrolytes as well. Fossil that I am, I prefer [balanced] salt tablets and water to Gatorade and suchlike. The temperature was not really high, but the combination of strong direct sun and reflected sun added up. Working in the shade is not always an available option. On the other hand, we don't need to know how to deal with frostbite!
