Godspeed, John Glenn

John Herschel Glenn Jr. (July 18, 1921 – December 8, 2016)

Our condolences go to Sen. Glenn's wife of seventy-three years, Annie, and to their children and family. He was a true hero and a truly great American. May he rest in peace.

  1. Grammies are first! My goodness, Listener, your Scrabble set sounds fabulous! When you first mentioned working on it I was in awe, and all the more so hearing what all it consists of. That's one lucky girl to have such a devoted and talented grammy!

Like Ms Reid, I and my family are well enough off that we will probably profit from Trumpism. I was talking with our bond broker yesterday, who recommended a big banks fund on the premise that they will be doing even better in the next few years. Economically rational. But dirty money.

    1. Profit financially, I should specify. And I am beginning to suspect I may retire sooner (and in somewhat less comfort) than planned--the small company I work for may well be bought this coming year by a much larger company I truly do not want to work for. Well, I have my consulting practice, which can be built up, and might be able to go back to work as a medical laboratory technologist, although several things that made it enjoyable have gone and are not coming back. I am keeping my license up to date.
