    My sister used to live in Maine just four miles from the Canadian border. I wonder if Canada will accept political refugees?

  3. I heard professional fireworks most of the morning, briefly in the afternoon, then after dusk. Wonder what they are celebrating? (Bastille Day is past.)

  6. I heard what sounded like professional fireworks -- pretty sure it wasn't thunder -- most of the morning, then briefly in the afternoon, and again at the usual dusk fireworks time. Wonder what they were cerebrating? (Bastille Day is past.) But it's thunder now, with rain joining it.
