Happy Thursday.I just got a begging letter from the Hillary Victory Fund. I wrote them a succinct little note explaining that I am leaving the undemocratic Democratic Party, that I will not be supporting Hillary and I certainly will not be voting for her. Just the name "Hillary Victory Fund" makes me see red because that's what she was using when she was laundering money through the state parties and back to herself while her minions ranked on Bernie for "not supporting down-ticket Democrats". I swear, the longer this goes on the more I hate her. Oh, and I'm letting THEM pay the postage.
Almost forgot, my "Ladies' Sewing Circle and Terrorist Society" T-shirt came today. Got it from Etsy.
Sounds like a great T-shirt, Susan.
Which color did you choose, Susan?I like the blue but think it might be too Dem. I know it dates from at least the 70's, but do wish it didn't use the word "terrorist." I think I'd prefer "anarchist" or "revolutionist"
I got the black one and I love the word "terrorist" - that's the main reason I got it. Picturing a little circle of ladies quietly bent over their sewing while secretly plotting mayhem. I'd be totally down with that.
I must find a picture of that, Susan! That beats the Nope/Noper sign, I am sure. The following (from politicalwire.com) seems quite interesting:BuzzFeed: “Despite months of public tension between the Trump and Kasich camps, the governor’s loyalists in Ohio had been making plans for the state party to unify and coordinate with the Trump campaign, according to two sources with knowledge of the effort. One of the governor’s key strategists had been tapped to coordinate get-out-the-vote efforts with Trump, and other Kasich allies were expected to follow suit.”“But on Monday, Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort took the unexpected, and unprecedented, step of blasting Kasich to reporters in his own home state, calling him ‘petulant’ and ’embarrassing’ for his refusal to endorse Trump. Since then, ‘all the top political talent in the state has been called to the sidelines,’ said one Republican close to Kasich.”--Alan
And of course you all heard about Cruz being booed during his speech at the convention because he refused to endorse Trump. Also, I hear Trump timed his grand entrance to interrupt Cruz's speech, th childish, self-involved bully.
I fully anticipate that the Dem Con will go the way of the Rep Con. That is, I anticipate the majority of attendees just going with the Hillary flow, and I anticipate anything less than full endorsement and concession being lambasted by the DNC.
High school U.S. History and Government classes were quite some time ago, but I seem to recall that at one time, the top vote getter became president and the next highest vote getter became VP, even if the two candidates were of different parties. That idear appeals to me. Let's bring it back. Clinton/Trump or Trump/Clinton, anyone? That way, we can please *all* the idiots besides give them exactly what they want. And after they've destroyed the country, on their own reality TV show of course, we can get back to the grownup business of building a more perfect union.

I just got home from a state Election Official training. Many shenanigans witnessed during the primary cycle were clearly illegal…or at least would be if they got tried in Vermont. For example:* If you are a Town Clerk and you're pretty sure a particular person shouldn't be on your voter checklist, you keep them on your list for TWO MORE election cycles before you drop them, just incase you're wrong.* You MUST let the state and the public know 30 days in advance if you are going to change a polling place, with the one exception of an emergency (like a hurricane destroyed your building).* No one may campaign (or even wear a political tee shirt that isn't covered up) inside a building which contains a polling place (not only in the polling area). No solicitation of any kind, no surveys may be taken in the polling place, and no one may stand in the area outside a polling place as to converse with people about their vote. If they want to do an exit poll, they must stand away from the building, off to one side, and let people come to them if they choose to, not call out to them. This is because there are people who would not vote if they will feel impinge upon on Election Day. * Candidates and their entourage may not enter polling places that are not their own, and at their own may enter only to vote. Candidates who are unopposed my work at the polls, but candidates who are opposed may not. There's more, too, but you get the idea.I knew all this, but it was riveting to hear it again from Vermont's official in charge of elections! Vermont's primary for state elections is August 9th.
Well, in one way the totally corrupt Democratic primaries did me a favor. I won't waste any more time thinking that Democrats are the party of the people.

listener--and others--I remain pleased with the Kent combs I ordered fromSmallflower.com [Click], which seems to have the best prices around, and inexpensive shipping (multiple combs--I don't know how many--will be sent for the basic delivery charge). I find myself using the Kent R7T comb--the coarse end for combing out tangles easily, the fine (which works OK for tangles, just not as easy as the coarse) for finishing the job. The comb does NOT snag and pull out hairs. Very easy on the scalp, and the teeth show no evidence of breaking (unlike the cheap plastic Ace combs). It seems to be money very well spent. Did you get the comb from your hairdresser?--Alan
