In his book, The Battle over Homework: Common Ground for Administrators, Teachers, and Parents, the homework guru gives details about the relationship between homework and success at different grade levels. While homework has a significant benefit at the high school level, the benefit drops off for middle school students and “there’s no benefit at the elementary school level,” agrees Etta Kralovec, an education professor at the University of Arizona.

With 42% of total vote counted, Clinton is winning big in NYC area, Sanders winning or close in rest of state. Majority of NYC precincts are in, not so many elsewhere.
ReplyDelete68% of the vote counted and Hillary has 58.3%. Bernie is closing the gap, but there seems little hop he can hold the margin to the 5% or so I thought he needed. Disappointing night.

DeleteIt looks like Clinton added about 30 delegates to her lead. Not good at all. We'll have to see what happens next week. It could be all over by then.

What matters to me about this loss is that there seems to have been some shenanigans in who got to vote and who didn't. Not only do you have to register with a party six months in advance, but the Dems purged the rolls, especially in Brooklyn, where Bernie and Jane are from. If people didn't respond to a mailing they got dropped from the rolls. I am tired of power plays and political greed. I am disgusted at election fiddling and furious at election fraud, and I think incompetence is no excuse whatsoever.
ReplyDeleteIf we cannot win because power greedy people know how to rig the election, then I think a lot of us are going to just go underground.
I am so lucky to be from Vermont where our representatives deserve our votes, and we get to actually cast our votes! My town clerk goes out of her way to help someone get to vote. But aside from Vermont, the system is suspect. I am not okay with this. I wish Jimmy Carter could check it out for election fraud!
