Sun, up on the Ridge

  1. No one asked me at work why I have a slash mark on my cheek. Dang. I was all ready with, "Sword fight."

    "Really?" they would ask incredulously.

"Either that or my kitty startled." ;-)

  2. Hallo All! Alan has been having trouble posting, so I'm posting this link for him in response to my library story above.

Not everything the author said is true. It is not true that every town has a library. Nope. Here in Vermont it's probably one in three or four towns; though, to be fair, my town has two. It is also not true at our library that such a large percentage of the people who use the computers are looking for work. More likely they are kids after school playing computer games or adults stopping by to read their email because the internet hasn't made it to their house yet. More will be doing geneaological research than job hunting. But then, Vermont is a mostly white state, and our unemployment rate is 5th lowest in the country, behind only North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Hawaii. I loved the story of the guy in Ohio who filled out an online form using a pen on the screen! I could so picture that happening!
