Autumn on the Wane

  1. Whoop for Howard!

Sherlock [Click] by BBC is really fine IMO…. I have seen the first two episodes and ordered the others that are available on Netflix.

Traveling out of the valley and to the SF Bay Area, then back, we coulees see how terribly smoggy the air is here. The weather forecast is for light winds starting tonight. No storm front seems to be in the offing. High pressure seems to indicate an inversion layer. Out cold is nearly finished, and my chronic cough seems to be gone or at least greatly diminished.

It seems a bit lonely without our grandkitty here.

  3. Such a busy weekend here! I worked yesterday, then we drove down to NH and back to attend a 30th anniversary party. Today we visited at VT*Grand's horse farm, all went out to eat for lunch along with Root*Center*Son. When we got back to the farm two of the horses got spooked by an annoying neighbour dog and broke out of their pastures. Never a dull moment! When we got home we had to attend a neighbourhood meeting. Glad to have a quiet evening before us.

  4. I have all three seasons of Sherlock on DVD and watch them repeatedly. Both Benedict and Martin are so busy with other work right now we'll have to wait for season 4. I'll just have to make do with "The Imitation Game" and "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies". Is it my imagination, or are British actors actually better than American actors? I'm also waiting for the second Marigold Hotel movie.

  5. Susan--I am thinking of going back and watching the first episode of Sherlock soon. The way they brought in all the regulars--Watson, Mycroft, Mrs. Hudson and Moriarity among them--was stellar. In fact, it's just possible I might be able to slip it in tonight....

I assembled divers components of various ages into a karaoke system for Miyoko to take to a year-end get-together. The centerpiece is the karaoke player--the only model ever sold that would play LaserDiscs, CD+G discs, and DVD's. I had a dickens of a time figuring out how to get the modern TV set to display the video output of the old karaoke player, but finally did.
