listener's Mom's painting of Wickford Harbor

One week after she painted this, that old dock was torn down.

Tinged for years by the artist's cigarette smoke, this was recently cleaned and framed.

  1. Gotta love weather service tone of voice: ya'll should have had a killing frost two weeks ago. We aren't gonna give you any more warnings about this till the growth season resumes come spring. . . .

    1. Thanks, puddle. I absolutely love it, and the other I have of Mom's also. When I think of how little instruction she had, it blows my mind. Her dream was to go to art school, but her parents guilted her into giving up her savings for her older sister's wedding. She never got it back, and she never really forgave any of them. The few lessons she had with Loring in Rhode Island were the closest she came, and this was one she painted during that time. Mom only ever could afford cheap frames; I wish she could see the painting in this one!

  3. Don't have much to say. Got the bills paid -- or more precisely, got the automatically paid bills entered in my accounting software. Got some work done. (Chicago) Bears got clobbered. Seems to be about it.
