  2. Sooo, I had my evaluation at work today. We respond to essay questions, turn it in and make an appointment with the Director. Today was the appointment part. She gave me a page with comments about my work. All good! We are all asked to engage our library patrons a bit less, just for the sake of quiet. I am invited to actually work more slowly! (I love this job!) But my favourite comment she made about me was "treats children with respect." Awesome! Feel free to write on my tombstone*, "She treated children with respect."

(*except that I may be sprinkled instead of buried. LOL!)

  3. I had a crown replaced this morning, and a filling in the neighboring tooth--no anaesthetic given or needed. The previous crown was more than fifty years old; can't complain about that. Then a little different distribution of work than usual at the lab, but well worthwhile, and home at a reasonable time. Tomorrow I must fill in for the boss, who will be in court. I had a chat with a coroner about a case that was a bit of a puzzle, and we came to a conclusion about the cause and manner of death. There is an old chestnut that the best laboratory test is a carefully obtained history, and that is no less true for the dead than for the quick.
