Well, it's GROUNDHOG DAY, again...

  1. Howard is first, no matter what the groundhog prognosticates.

But I sure don't want six more weeks of winter!

  2. Phil's track record is about like a coin flip:

It seems they forgot to tell Phil about Global Warming. ;-)

  3. Boy, it's cold (by our standards) today! One can really feel the snow on the mountains, and there's a breeze to boot. Before leaving for a poetry and lunch get-together, Miyoko encouraged me not to do any pruning today, and I think I will be an obedient husband for once. Cloudy--no shadows here. Photo of tulip tree made and will be coming when the computer is not using so much of its processing power as it is at the moment.

Thanks for the pointer to the Baldwin apple ladders, listener--it seems that they are not available hereabouts, but from the photos on the Internet I can see how they are made, and expect I could do it well and easily enough (this summer). I had checked Craigslist for this area, but no luck.

  4. Wow! It's raining again--that wasn't forecast! Good news in general, and for lazy husbands in particular!

    1. 60? WOW! I guess you have to pay for that.

We have snow of varying degrees of severity forecast for tonight, Wednesday and this coming weekend.

  7. A bit of rain sounds perfect, Alan. Are you in drought where you are or is that more to your south?

P.S.: Inspired by the lead picture, I watched "Groundhog Day." Yes, that was a pretty good movie.
