  2. Got up just in time to review the overnight thread before it was disappeared forever. Alas -- not to be: Bill Gates downloaded something in the night which required the restarting of my computer. And not enough time time to set up and load the BBB before the witching hour of nine o'clock.

All day yesterday, he was busy downloading updates on me, and surfing was, erm, *painfully slow* (literally tried for 10 hours to download a Valentine's picture). Today looking to be a repeat. That makes three days this month with the Gift of Gates. Did mention I don't like him much?

Right now, I can't get the BBB to load at all. Cheers.

  4. Was just wondering this morning how much trouble it would be to migrate on over to my (Edwin's) Mac. I brought it back with me, and I have an account on it. But he's the registered owner. I DO have his password, so I suppose I could be him. Then there's either getting earthlink on it, or finding another provider (there aren't many dialup providers left). It's running Tiger -- he'd just upgraded. But that was six years ago. Maybe go look, eh?

  5. Six years....already?

    Wow.

  6. Ya. But, you know, it feels like yesterday. Thankful and I were talking the other night about how *present* he feels. And he does. Is.

And thank you for the heart. . . .

  7. *hug* Puddle

I'd like to tell you it gets easier, but it doesn't. I'm glad you have Thankful and other friends to talk about him with. That must help a little.

  8. BTW Bill, have you heard, Spider Robinson's daughter has been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. First Jeanne and now their only child? How much more can the poor man take? Not sure I still have your e-mail address. Drop me a line at cosmoscat@earthlink.net if you want me to forward the message Ed sent me.

  10. Ohhhh, that's so very sad, Cat. My heart goes out to the poor man, and to all who care about him and his family. ♥

  11. Ah, that's excellent...just as one would have it.
The veil is very thin, for those who have perception. ♥

  12. In the take good care of your karma department...

We are part of a condo association. Mah*Sweetie has served the group in one capacity or another for nearly 30 years, and has been treasurer for about 7 years. Most of the people who live here have been here a decade or less, though one goes back 20 or so years.

Two of the newer folk made trouble a couple years ago, just as we were expecting company for the holidays, accusing Mah*Sweetie of something which was unfounded. It was a misunderstanding but they just couldn't get it, and wouldn't believe it until a small group was appointed to audit and proved all was well. Mah*Sweetie remained calm the whole time and eventually they were proved wrong...but there were no repercussions at all, as the larger group is quite phlegmatic.

Well, eventually karma comes around and whacks a person up the side of the head. The two who made trouble live on two sides of the same duplex, one building over from ours. Eventually the second person (who is very caustic) irritated the first enough that they moved down the road; but they are still trying to sell their condo. It nearly sold at Christmas this year, but inspectors discovered a rodent problem...which had originated on the other side of the duplex!...so it didn't pass inspection. In the course of correcting the rodent problem the offensive owner quietly put her condo up for sale...and has received an offer. While the other owner (who was in cahoots with her regarding Mah*Sweetie) not only hasn't sold yet, but now gets to hear all about the other person's success.

We like the part where eventually they will both have moved away. The Association's annual meeting happens in March and will take place here at our house. We're here for the long term, so we try to keep the keel even.

No, I hadn't heard. I'm mildly surprised, since I would have expected it to be mentioned on one of my lists.

E-mail is on its way to you. BTW, I had another e-mail address for you. Should I delete it?

  16. I understand the Karma Fairy has quite a sense of humor. I try my best to steer clear of her. . . .

  17. I have one gmail address and several earthlink addresses. Sometimes I lose track of them myself.

  18. WOW! Impressive!

  19. Thanks...I was a little bit impressed, myself...chiefly because everything on the iPhone feels so tiny, tiny, tiny. LOL!

  21. Whoo hoo! I've been trying to do this since I got my iPhone.

I just figured out how to set a London Phone Booth photo as my iPhone wallpaper!
It cracks me up!! I wanted a red iPhone case to go with it, but I couldn't find a sturdy enough one in red for the iPhone 4S. So I went with a teal Otterbox Defender. :-)

  22. Yah! We had to turn off our stove here (it's all our heat, too!).

It's been raining (at night!) and it's supposed to be 46F here tomorrow. Insane!
