  1. Here it is Friday, and Howard's still first.

  3. I came home from work with a brand new copy of Downton Abbey, Season TWO in hand! So Mah*Sweetie and I watched the finale tonight! How cool is it to be a library clerk?!

No spoilers, but do not miss it!!! I commend Julian Fellowes for his follow-through.

  4. Cheeze… A person spend a couple of days on Darkover and all Hades busts loose in Terran politics!

Bill--I agree that there seems to be something odd about Recontact. Came across an unbelievable misuse of a word that should never have slipped past a competent English speaker, much less an accomplished writer or editor. I realized it was after MZB's stroke. I noticed they dealt post facto with the problem of how horses got to Darkover, and expect there will be other such things. The basic structure is there, but the execution seems wanting. Still interesting enough to finish, certainly.

puddle--How could meds NOT work better with cheesecake? [grin]

--Not my personal stye, but what do guys know?

Knee acting up a bit this evening, but 1.5 servings of nice warm rice wine and a heating pad (on top of a hot bath and liniment) doing wonders... Now off to The Land of Nod.

  5. Good night last night. Took 2 nappys/cheesecake *before* going to bed.

I figured as much about our guys and the Coogi. I know for sure only one guy who would have liked it: Edwin. And, possibly, my kid. Though I pretty much think his wife'd hate it, and the kiddles would kid him. But he has some secretly goofy style likes, lol!

  8. Do you put the warm rice wine on your knee or your tongue?

  10. Spent the evening with VT Grand. What a riot! We're driving home from preschool and she starts singing me a long, involved, spontaneous song all about how any time I need her she will come and care for me because she loves her princess Grammie. LOL! The best part is that she broke mid-sentence to inform me that I'm supposed to applaud when she finishes. ROFL! Kids are fabulous! ♥

  11. Ah! To *be* the Princess Grammie. . . . Life is good, eh?

  12. Tropical tomorrow (fifty); blizzard on Sunday with up to 5 inches of snow. Go figure.

  13. *Very!* Being called "princess" rather than "queen" made me feel so young! :-)

  14. Yeah, such a strange Winter. It's going to snow in Richmond, Virginia and melt down to the grass in Vermont.

  15. According to Homeopathy, Absinthe would work directly on the knee, if one were interested in the Absinthe of pain. . . .

  16. The rice wine made its way past my tongue on its way to my knee. Good pun, puddle! Then of course there is the (in)famous line attributed to various people: "Absinthe makes the tart grow fonder."
