  1. Today Howard Dean, puddle and St. Stephen are First!

For your listening enjoyment, here's a link to Willem Lange's story Favor Johnson via VPR:

It was great to hear Will read the lesson from Isaiah 9 at church on Christmas Eve.

  2. Peaceful day. Beau got his new 30' long tie out. Which it turns out is way too long (boy can get himself into a LOT of trubble with ten more feet. . . .). Talked to ma kids. Cooter's arriving early evening. Just in time to refill the water tank, though that wasn't planned, at all.

I woke about an two with massive heartburn. First time since I was seven months preggers with my first one. So came down and started bi-carb, soda crackers, soda. And *then* remembered that I was 'sposed to get blood work done this morning at 8. Blew that one. Ah, well. Nothing to be done about it now but cancel and reschedule. This is NOT hospital related ~~ Just primary care trying to fix the potassium and thyroid.

  3. Well, puddle, first things first. No sense in being miserable for 6 hours if it's more or less routine blood work. Sooo glad it won't postpone your surgery! Maybe write yourself some big notes tonight, just incase, so you can't forget early morning tomorrow. ;-)

Beau, Beau, Beau. What a silly boy.

Sweet today here. When I woke it was still snowing and I think we have a good 4" now, so it feels like a real snow. Then the snow stopped, we got a patch of blue sky with a parcel of sunshine, and now it's overcast. We put out a peanut butter ball. Then Mah*Sweetie cleared off all four vehicles (Root*Center*Son is still here and another son's car too). He then went over to the hardware store for more thistle seed for the birds and he's out there now setting them up properly, with full feeders of all sorts and a fresh bird bath. The Chickadee Clan was already by to check out the peanut butter ball from every angle. Haven't seen any of them give it a go yet. ;-)

  4. Learned today that the new Mini dealer in Vermont won't be fully operational until March! Argh! I need that bonnet fixed soon, and would really like to avoid a trip all the way to Albany! As I understand it, they can't do any warranty work unless they're fully fledged.

  5. Oh, YAY! Just got my operating time. They want me there at 5:30 a.m. (give or take a few minutes ) two hours to operating time. This was going to be the *only* time that'd get me out of the hospital by noon the next day. . . . (Lord willing and the crick don't rise.)

  6. Ya. I think I might be an optimist, lol!

  7. You are *definitely* an optimist! I assumed at first that your "Oh, YAY!" comment was sarcastic! LOL!

My heart is with you today and straight on through. It's going to take a bit, but you'll come through this better than ever. Better than you've been in ages. I can hardly wait to hear about what it's like for you to be able to take eating for granted again. =BIG HUGS=

And remember to pack your comfort bear!!! ♥

  8. Bear's in da bag. Along with two pair of pants (one paper, one scrubs) in case I'm able to wear 'em. (A couple of the holes look to be about at the waist line, maybe.) Also dragging along a biggol pillow for the return trip home, and to help getting up/down in the hosp.

  9. Getting ready for my last big comfort meal before normal recommences (I say that advisedly -- I'm well aware that normal is never to return. But "no big deal" is a wonderful compromise.): a BIG avocado/shrimp/cucumber/lettuce salad with tomato slushee. And then I'm going to wash the blender and put it away for a couple of days. Crock pot, too. Then we'll see.

Recovery on this one seems about like the disease itself: very different for each one. Some have docs that keep you on soft for a month, and have problems even with that. Others are eating hamburgers the first day home. Have plenty of purees and even more soups, so am good to go, no matter which way the path leads. Just to have food actually HIT the tummy seems like a *huge* blessing.

Kid advised me about an hour ago that he was on his way!

  10. Hi guys!

Sorry to be so late in getting here today. Dad and I have spent much of the afternoon figuring out iTunes and Audible to see whether it's possible to change the default directories for both; it is, of course. But even dad had some trouble figuring out how to change where the programs look for files. Currently moving the My Music directory folder from C drive to external H drive. Then I have to move Audible. O course, I forgot to snag the song I need to make a planned YouTube and now must wait for My Music to finish moving. The Time Remaining stamp fluctuates wildly, but it's going to be a long time. Oh well, it's in a good cause.

  11. Good Kid!! :-D Sooo glad the time is finally here for you. I hope your night goes smoothly and that tomorrow goes even more smoothly!! Prayers ensuing!!

Holding you (and your son and your doctor and your whole medical team) in the Light allllll the waaaay throoough!!!

So glad that you're all loaded with bear. 8-)

    =Massive Hugs!!=

♥ Prayers ensuing ♥ Theologically speaking, I'm not worried about God wanting you to be well, so I don't feel there's any petitioning needed in that regard. ;-) I do, however, offer my freely willed desire for your well being to God's own strength, to help the Universe tip in your direction. I'm also kything like crazy in the direction of your medical team, that they'll be alert and wise and skillful. Okay. Got you covered. Go Julie Go! Rah! Rah! :*

  12. Sounds like fun, Cat! I think I'm about done with my tech days. I find I just get terminally annoyed with new chit.

  13. Gotta add that your dinner sounds dee-licious!!! That cookbook is gonna rock!!

  14. Currently on YouTube your humble Cat has 35,738 total upload views. YAY! On the downside, there are two Dislikes on "Blue Christmas" by Engelbert. Now, what kind of a grinchy person would do that? Puddle like it on my FB page, after all. There's no accounting for people I guess.

  15. Puddle, sending you all possible Light and good vibes♥

  16. Tech is definitely annoying. But when I want to throw the computer and all peripherals out the window, I remember the worlds it has opened to me, so I stay my hand and just cuss a bit.

  20. It could be that what they're disliking isn't the song but the idea of not being with the one they love.

  21. I'll be thinking of you. Let is know how things went as soon as you can.
