  1. Howard's pretty much got it.

Grim, gray, and not too cold. It'll do.

  2. Rained so much this morning with heavy cloud cover that I slept in. I slept ten hours!!
So I guess I'm all caught up from working at the Library. :-)

  4. Best part of all is that I'll work just three hours on Tuesday instead of 5 (because I have 2 hours of vacation time I have to use up before December 8th), and I get Thursday off as a paid holiday. Sweet!

  5. Also, I am aware that several fellow staffers have asked to have the Thursday and Friday just before Christmas weekend off. My family is celebrating the weekend beforehand, so if asked I am going to say yes to the extra hours. I'll still get Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and the following day off, so it's a win-win situation.

  6. Hunting season starts today. If I don't get shot in the coming week, and the dog doesn't, I'll be thankful!

My kid's come up Friday with some mouse nesting material (insulation) and we're going to finish up the super winterizing. I can already *feel* the difference with what he's done already, so this is going to be one toasty winter!

    Cookin' ma turkey TODAY!!

  7. Still just under 50ยบ! I'm impressed! Quiet day. Beau's being wonderful. Turkey's in, and sizzling. Giblets simmering. All's right wit' da worl'. . . .

Going to be very hard on Mr. Puppy when it's too cold for him to stay out this much. I was looking at heated throws at Costco. Maybe I can make him a little home outside of home on the porch and keep his toes warm. . . . It's the thought of him being barefooted out there for hours that gives me the willies. He's got *plenty* of fur.

  8. On a related note, Brady has such serious balance issues that he often has to be out for a *long* time before he is finally able to "go". Has to walk a lot before the moment is right.

This is really tough when he needs to go out in the middle of the night. I just *can't* stay out with him for as long as it takes. So I've been musing that he needs some boots. And maybe a parka or something.

  9. Four days before Thanksgiving and DIL writes:

Ah, sleeping in...then being woken up by your child saying, " Mommy, it's time to wake up. If you sleep too long it'll be Easter!"

:-D Grandad was utterly helpless with laughter!

  10. Remember that those are leather toes he's got, but yes a heated dog blanket in a nice lean-to on the porch could be just the thing! He's got such a kind person. ♥

I love thinking of you getting all snug for Winter and roasting your turkey early to get started on the project of making it just right for you. Plus you get so save some aside for Son to enjoy his way.

Still smiling over your "mouse nesting material"!!!

  11. When I was at Costco Thursday, they had some magnifying glasses. I tried their rig out, and decided I prolly need some new, higher magnifying ones. What I *couldn't* figure out is why I would need three. And that's how they were packaged. . . .
