  2. Hi Alan and everyone.

We had some much needed rain last night. This afternoon is very pleasant.

  3. Nice day today, warmish, sunny. No rain last night. All the nice BIG storms passed to my west headed north. Wish they'd left me their calling cards. . . .

  4. Hallo all! Home safely. :-) Had a marvelous meeting with my peers and a very good meeting with my spiritual guide. Nice to be home. We've put the stove on for a little while as a light frost is possible tonight.

  6. Thanks!! ♥

As we drove home and listened to local and national news, we wished we could just skip this whole election season, y'know?

  8. I went to the indoor track tonight to get in my walk. Sadly I learned that the indoor track will be closed as of next Tuesday, 9/21, for *three whole months*. I am so totally bummed. I was counting on having the track available through the cold weather. I'm taking a twice weekly strength-training class, but will have to take to the wild for walking.

I don't have much choice, since I went from a size 8-10 last summer to a size 18-20 this fall. Being smoke-free came with mighty heavy tuition. I've always been little and I liked it that way. I hate, hate, hate the way I look and feel now.

I smell better, but I look like shit.

  10. Wow, Susan, that's so dumb of them! Whyever didn't they close it in the Summer months when folks have so many other options for walking? Good for you for working on your health! Hopefully you'll find the weight is: easy come, easy go! I'm so pleased you broke the smoking habit. Is there a large mall near you? Many malls open their doors to seniors (and others) for walking, an hour before they open each day.

  11. Well, I've got to get some shut-eye, as I open the Library in the morning, with my coworker who just had her gall bladder out 10 days ago.

But first, here's a little something different...!

Remember how our 5 Democratic candidates played nice and stuck together through the Recount? Well, once the Recount was over the Republican and Democratic candidates went full tilt into the negative campaigning. Grrrr. I makes me feel disgusted! So this (while being poorly written) at least attempts to address the issue of negative campaigning. I think the Democrat is shooting himself in the foot left and right. All the Dems can say anymore is "Vote for us; we're not as bad as the Republicans. Oh, and send us money." Hubby says: "Why would I do that? Then I'd have two things to feel bad about. (1) The Republicans are bad. (2) I just lost some money to the Democrats."

Okay, 'nuff said. Here's the article. And be sure to scroll down the blog that follows it, to VT Grammie's post. Wink
