Better than Refrigerator Poetry
This is part of the rock garden at St. Michael's College in Vermont.
There are many many stones with words on them. I found this sentence as is! :-)

It's Friday and a Long Weekend. Shall we party?
HATE to mess up listener's pretty lay out, but this is the logical place to put this, lol!
This is the only way to do this: if I try and post it, the software thinks it is *real* HTML, and either makes a link, or tells me it can't post because some tag or other isn't closed.

Have a Brownie..
Incase you're wondering, these dessert photos are from the Volunteer Dessert we have each year for the good folks who volunteer at the Library. :-)
Update from Renee. Forehead slap--I completely forgot that we'd be losing the Echo comments at some point. Had to re-jigger something so that the usual Blogger comment option would kick in. Here's the link to the Echo comments from earlier today.

Time for Breakfast...
Speaking of Time...we need to make a decision about what time the Blog resets each day. What if we set it for midnight Central Time, since Renee is the founder of HEP? That would make it easier on those on the west coast, be good for those who feel it currently resets too soon each night, and we east-coasters tend to be night owls anyway. Just a thought. What's your thought?

Happy Sunday!
Today is the party for Dr.*Son over in Maine. :-) We're extra glad because we'll be leaving behind temps in the 90's to go to the coast where it will be 68-70F. Ahhhhhhh. Remind me to tell you about the harps!

Carelton's Prize
"Carleton's Prize rises from the lake about three miles east of Valcour Island, just off Providence Island. The rock received its named after being mistakenly bombarded by the British fleet under Sir Guy Carleton in search of Benedict Arnold's vessels in 1776." :-D

Mizzen
Mizzen has an "M" on her forehead. She also has some orange tones in her colouring (see yesterday's photo). She is a very sweet kitty and tends to follow. A mizzen is a small sail at the back of a ship.

Spinnaker
Spinnaker has beautiful markings. She is lively and at the forefront of whatever is going on.
A spinnaker is the big curving sail flown at the front of a sailboat to give it extra forward motion.

The Shad is in Bloom
Today my dear friend Margaret will be laid to rest. She died on December 4th nearly age 98.
Margaret was the person who told me that the Shad trees always flower first in Spring.
We both loved to see its blossoms all the way up her beautiful country road. RIP Margaret

Tribute
This is a tribute to my Uncle Tom, whose funeral and burial are today. The day before he died his son and daughter-in-law asked him, “What are your favorite flowers?” Uncle Tom replied, “It depends. I usually buy what’s on sale. Both King Arthur and Gold Medal are pretty good. Sometimes I buy the store brand.” They say they couldn’t look at each other because they knew they'd lose it. They added, "We're thinking that a 5 lb. bag of flour at the funeral might be appropriate. We’ll see what’s on special that week."
RIP Uncle Tom ♥
