  1. Howard's da Boy!

My phone line's been out since Friday morning. Whatta drag! But this time it wasn't just me, it was half the county! Wasn't up went I went to bed last night, so was "amazed" when it connected this morning!

Spent most of Friday when I thought it was just ME cleaning the computer. And was reminded that my System Restore has never worked since it was reformatted. . . . Other than that, full disk check three times, partial disk check three times, disk cleanup twice, CrapCleaner twice, defragged about six times. This computer's about as clean as it will ever be, lol!

Sneaky outage: we had a dial tone. But ya couldn't call out, connect to the nets, or get incoming. Relief to be back on. And that was for half of the county! I've had longer outages just on my own line (which is especially crappy), but for a wide area one, this is a record.

    1. Nope -- he's in the other half of the county.

  3. If somebody could produce a breed of cat that looked like a kitten all its life they'd have to have waiting lists for potential owners. Nothing in this world as cute as a baby cat.

  5. I love the mind of weathermen, lol! We have a cold front moving through which will bring us three days of rain, with luck. But the temps will actually be higher than after it leaves. . . . Why not just call it a *wet* front?

  6. listener--the sound system in our new Camry is the standard one, whatever brand Toyota uses:

"AM/FM CD player with MP3/WMA playback capability, six speakers, auxiliary audio jack, USB port with iPod connectivity and control, auto sound leveling and BLU Logic Hands Free System." The sound quality is obviously better even to my poor ears, and is enhanced by the fact that the interior of the car is much quieter--less road noise, less engine noise, less wind noise.

The Deluxe version has "ten JBL GreenEdge speakers including subwoofer and amplifier." I am sure it would be wasted on me.

The car gave just the advertised gas mileage, and with careful driving would probably have given more. We drove it just like the previous one, and it used about half as much gasoline, near as I can figure.
