  1. I was mistaken about Melania's greeting of Camilla. I have since seen another clip of the greeting from a better angle and it looks just fine...I am relieved to say! Have a look

  2. Thanks, Cat!! Note for you on the last thread.
I was AWOL as it was Wil's birthday.
Hope everyone else is holding up okay.

  3. I am OK now but spent the last two days flat on my back. I had been taking large amounts of ibuprofen for sciatica pain, then had to quit because of nausea. Unfortunately the nausea continued. I think ibuprofen is a wonder drug but it does have that effect. My epidural procedure in due in two weeks and can happen now as far as I am concerned. -- nordy

    1. Sorry to hear that nordy. I only had sciatica once, and once was more than enough. Hope you find some measure of relief before two weeks. Susan

    4. Ohhhh, major ouch!! 😩
Ibuprofen (Advil) helps most with muscle pain. Since sciatica is nerve pain, have you tried Naproxen (Aleve)? It was the only NSAID that gave me any relief when I had post herpetic nerve pain from shingles. My pharmacist told me that 4 OTC Aleve are the same as 2 prescription strength Naproxen.

    5. Oh, phooey...
"If Advil (ibuprofen) causes stomach upset, switching to Aleve (naproxen) is generally not recommended as both are NSAIDs that carry similar risks of gastrointestinal irritation. In fact, research indicates that naproxen can have a higher risk of stomach issues than ibuprofen."

  4. A rule change pushed by White House officials would slash benefits or end support for as many as 400,000 Supplemental Security Income recipients with Down syndrome, dementia and other disabilities whose parents or relatives receive SNAP benefits, ProPublica is reporting.
All of these people could have their SSI benefits cut because they live with family, even though disability advocates, evangelicals and budget experts agree that it’s more humane and less expensive for adults with disabilities to live at home rather than in institutional facilities.

Presented with a detailed list of this article’s findings, the communications director for the Office of Management and Budget asserted that “this story is false because it speculates about policies that have not yet been decided.” Asked to specify what was false, OMB did not identify anything. -- nordy

    2. There *must* be a way to rid of us this extremely corrupt MAGA Supreme Court. I don't know what it is, but there had GOT to be a way. They are smoothing the way to trump's dictatorship, and I can't like it. Susan

    3. One thing I've been thinking about is initiating a full ethics review. My sneaking suspicion is, all five male members of the Court would throw noisy and prolonged tantrums, while there wouldn't be a peep out of the four female members. But, we'll never find out because it'll never happen.

    4. To upend the MAGA-heavy Supreme Court, we need to get a good Administration and increase the number of members on the Court to 11 or 13. It has always been 9, yet their workload is massive compared to long ago. I wish Biden had done so when he had half a chance.

    5. I'll have to look it up but, no, I don't think it has always been nine. In any case, the number needs to be increased to thirteen because there are thirteen districts (or whatever), which means some but not all justices have something like double the work load. You'd think a one to one correspondence, being logical, would be non controversial.

    The vote was UNANIMOUS.
