  2. It slipped my mind last night, but no doubt you've heard that Gov. Mills dropped out of the Maine Senate race. This is good. I was concerned about the vote being divided. Now Platner has a clear road. He's going to be a fantastic senator!

    1. ...And who proposed her as a 79-year-old candidate? Schumer. Susan

    2. I'm glad Mills dropped out. Platner will be good for Maine and good in the Senate. Just now have to unseat Susan Collins...and you know the GOP will be spending large there. Good thing you can't buy Mainers.

    1. It will be interesting to see what the uptake was nationwide and what, if any, economic impact the whole thing has had.

    2. Have we ever heard before if it worked? How does one find out?

  5. Just been looking at some photos from past years' May Day festivals. Our school year ran August 1st to May 1st so this was always the big celebration ... the last day of school ... with a maypole and skits and a bunch of home schooling friends over to enjoy it all with us. We'd have a may pole even if it was snowing! We had yummy food and ALL the kids that came offered some sort of presentation. We'd pick a theme like science or theatre or math or art and all the kids would bring something to share with the others on the topic. It was great fun! The kids had a blast and spent half the time outside playing, while the parents would get to talk and talk and talk. It was so good for all of us. Gosh, has it really been 26 years since the last one?!
