Thinking of you, Alan!! Hoping you get to read the blog, even when it’s hard to post.

  3. Gloucester: 1 dead, 6 fishermen missing after boat sinks in frigid Atlantic

As this happened on Friday morning, and there has been no word of rescue, all may be presumed dead and may have gone down with the boat. Holding the Gloucester community in Love and Light.

  4. Susan Collins says ICE surge in Maine has ended

Maine clergy who were protesting peacefully in front of Senator Collins' office in Portland were arrested. Not respectful of first amendment rights! I note she hasn't called for Noem's ouster. I note she voted to pull back funds from DHS and reappropriate them to Medicaid (Bernie's bill)...but only when she was sure it wouldn't pass. It failed 51-49.

    1. Heather Cox Richardson noted that ICE was largely pulled out of Maine to save Susan Collins' Senate seat. She's up for reelection in November. I hope she is voted out this year at last!

    2. Not largely, completely. She went whining to the White House that she needed ICE gone or she'd lose her seat. She may well lose it anyway. Have you seen Graham Platner? Combat vet. IIRC former Army enlisted and former Marine officer. Pretty much what you picture when you think of a Mainer. It's a crowded field AFAIK but this guy really has what it takes. I *really* hope he gets the nomination. He'll squish Collins like a bug without even noticing.

    3. I won't say "completely" until we have proof. But yes...and yes to Platner.

  5. Upscrolled is not accessible. Haven't given up on it completely, but I am disgusted. In this day and age, everything on the Inner Tubes should be created with universal design at the very least, if not specific accessibility features. It's all there in the programming language specs, and has been for at least thirty years. Not to employ these tools implies laziness at best and deliberate ablism at worst. And, don't worry, I'm definitely going to give them a piece of my mind...at some point. Have a lot else to do, though. While I can't claim actually to be sick, I haven't been feeling well for some time. Slept off and on all morning today, and didn't actually get started till 2:25 PM. *sigh* It's hard to get anything done when you're tired all the time.

    1. Ohhh, Cat, I'm so sad you have been struggling to get enough sleep. I definitely relate. The whole reason I had the nasal surgery is so I can breathe enough to sleep normally again. I'm not there yet. I've been getting about 4 hours of broken sleep each night...just one I got 6, and I had a nap yesterday, but not today. Heading to bed early, hoping I can breathe enough to sleep sitting up. But it might not happen until after my doc removes the splints on Tuesday.
All the best for a restful night...to all! ❤️

  6. Huh, looks like I'm somehow logged in again. What is Upscrolled? TikTok alternative?
