  1. 🤬 DAss disbands school safety board that works to disband school shootings.
The board was composed of survivors, educators and gun violence prevention advocates

Hear Rachel Maddow (from the 2:08 mark to the 7:45mark) speak of how Tesla sales are plummeting world wide, how people are coming out in droves to protest, and how Musk's popularity has dropped like a rock....even down 21% among Republicans. If only the tigers had shown their stripes ahead of Election Day. Oh wait, quite a few of us had eyes to see.

    1. With no vaccine, but modern medical advances, one has a 52% chance of survival.
I'd just as soon skip it.

    1. I love hearing bits about Vikings having made it to the British Isles. I am primarily Irish and English with a bit of Scottish, and a pinch of Viking!

  6. {listener} The best news in weeks!!!!

Federal judge blocks Elon Musk’s DOGE access to critical Treasury payment system

US District Judge Paul Engelmayer ordered the destruction of any downloaded information from the payment system by anyone given access to it since January 20, citing “the risk that the new policy presents of the disclosure of sensitive and confidential information and the heightened risk that the systems in question will be more vulnerable than before to hacking.”

    1. Yes, nice--- but it seems to me that enforcement may be well nigh impossible. We have all sorts of laws against malefaction, but it continues. Still, attempts at enforcement are a good thing.

  9. I just stepped outside to check the mail, and although the fog has burnt off, it is still pretty cold by Fresno standards. Probably picnic weather in Jericho!

  11. Wil and I have filled out our Advance Directives. First pass, anyway. Nothing signed just yet. Soon.
But don't worry. We still need to plan our memorial services and have the leaflet for the service(s) on a thumb drive, ready for our kids to add the dates. Then we need to make the plan with the funeral director and our clergy of preference. We also plan to write our obituaries, ready for dates and any last details.

Then we're free to croak off. But we also plan to stick around for another decade or two.

    1. Oh! And we also want to have it all settled in advance where our ashes will be buried...in a sweet church memorial garden. Not sure if we need to make arrangements in advance with a crematorium, but that's on our list to check on.

Whoo! At least we already cleaned out the closets! LOL
There are, mind you, bins in the basement that we ought to paw through one more time and toss out a bunch of stuff. But the worst that would happen is the kids call up a junk removal service to cart it all away, in an afternoon.

We just don't want the kids to have a burden to tend. In fact, we're going to make the list in advance of "who gets what" of the important items. No one will want the rest. But if they do, they can have it.
