Only in Vermont…

Stopped at the Bakery
and who was also buying bread?
Bernie Sanders!
He said, “How are you doing?”
I said, “Great, thanks to you.”

  1. The lead photo looks like a fellow I have encountered at the Fresno fairgrounds and junior college . . .

Very large crowds turned out here for Bill Clinton, and huge crowds for Bernie Sanders; Trump's "crowd" was decidedly underwhelming.

  2. Ruh roh. I am unwell. Whatever this is, it's nothing I've had before. Headache, light body aches, digestive system extra sensitive, temp as high as 99ºF so far...but intermittent, hands ice cold and I'm bundled up and freezing. Since we stayed with someone a week ago who later came down with Covid, we've been testing. But so far negative.

    3. It's difficult when you don't feel well, but remember to stay hydrated.

    4. Hope you get better soon. Or a doctor can figure out what's wrong.

  3. Even the United States government says there is no safe level of asbestos. I used to cover mesothelioma in shipyard workers. They mostly had meso of the lung lining, and they died three to four months after diagnosis. --nordy

  4. About that Las Vegas "speech": What I wanna know is, once he said, "I don't care about you, I just want your vote," why didn't every person there turn their back and walk away?

    2. Guess so. Pretty scary! The man clearly has severe mental health issues, to put it kindly, and if a single soul cared about him, that person would lock him up themselves for his own protection. It struck me years ago that no one in Trump's world cares enough about him too protect him from making a complete and utter ass of himself. Now that his mental decline is so painfully on display, that lack of care and protection becomes all the more apparent. And yet I can't feel sorry for him. He has brought his own isolation on himself too. What a truly wretched, miserable individual.

  5. Off topic--saving money
I prefer real soap, either Ivory (less expensive) or Kirk's Coco Castile (slightly more alkaline). Many hand "soaps" these days are a combination of detergent and hand lotion. Lately our Ivory has been disappearing faster then before; opening a new bar, I realized it was damper than usual. So I unwrapped two entire packages and put all but the first bar outside to dry. Drying the soap makes it last a lot longer--- that's why the last bit of the bar seems to last almost forever. Manufacturing and delivering it with more water means more profit for the manufacturer.

    1. Typical, isn't it? Everything is to the benefit of big business, nothing to the benefit of the consumer.
