The weather has been very nice here lately; but we will have to move our gardening to an earlier time because sunset is ever earlier. The weeds are growing much slower.

  2. Just finished watching four seasons of Mr Selfridge. Looking around the net, discovered that Selfridge's was bombed, seriously, on September 18 1940, the very day I was born. Part of the Blitz.

    1. The father of one of my college roommates was stationed in London during the Blitz. He and his mates had become heartily sick and tired of the wartime fare at the British restaurants, and finally discovered what seemed to be the only Italian restaurant in all of London. They were going to go there again the next night, but it was bombed.

    3. puddle, have you watched (7 seasons) of SUITS? We’ve seen 3 episodes and it’s both intelligent and witty. Hoping they don’t shift writers. It’s on Netflix.

The Autumnal Equinox occurred this morning, Saturday, September 23, at 2:50 AM EDT. There are only two times of the year when the Earth's axis is tilted neither toward nor away from the sun, resulting in a “nearly" equal amount of daylight and darkness at all latitudes. These events are referred to as Equinoxes. At the equator, the sun is directly overhead at noon on these two equinoxes. The "nearly" equal hours of day and night is due to refraction of sunlight or a bending of the light's rays that causes the sun to appear above the horizon when the actual position of the sun is below the horizon. ~ NWS

    3. What I want to know is, how do these stupid, vicious, self-serving, bullying juvenile delinquents keep getting elected? They don't have the brains, sensitivity or responsibility to raise earthworms, much less serve as congressmen.

    1. I think that we should beware of the human failing of thinking that there was some "golden age" in the past when things were all better-- people were wiser, healthier, more moral and ethical, etc., be it in our youth or in some earlier time.

We have always had the gullible and the greedy. It’s just that we didn’t have such zippy communication with which to share and prove it.

  9. Don't know if it's wishful thinking or not, but I truly don't remember Republicans being as stupid as the tRump herd. Couple of nights ago, my ex told me I didn't need a flu shot (much less a COVID one). This is a man who's made millions of dollars on the stock market. *does*not*compute*
