    1. (Susan) Absent a lot because I'm under major stress and struggling to keep my mental health from fracturing. Today is a prime example. I was expecting the delivery of a hollow core door from Lowe's that was scheduled and confirmed for 12:30 to 4 p.m. today. Instead the guy shows up with the door at 8:30 a.m.! While I'm glad to have the door now I'm totally freaked out because I had my "chore list" all written out and this early delivery makes several chores moot so now I'm all unbalanced and twitchy. Under "normal" circumstances (if there ever *are* any?) this would not bother me. But my life has not been "normal" for a while now. Sucks, but I'm trying hard to deal with it.

    2. Take as good care of yourself as you can, Susan. For what it is worth, my better half makes up a schedule every day (that is because she always has, and I have generally worked from a flexible priority list). I have become more dependent on it since retirement. I make up the weekly pill dispensers, which function as a calendar.

I learned and used, still do, TM. Even got my then 12 YO son involved. This is the non-mystical form.
      Also works.

    4. (Susan) Thanks, puddle. I raced over and got a copy of Dr. Benson's book from Alibris. All help is good help.

    5. Mmmm...yes, anything that helps us to grow calm at center is worth including. Meditation helps many, as does mindful slow walking (especially if you're too restless for sitting still), and simply finding something of beauty to focus on for a few minutes and really appreciate...a flower, birdsong, even hearing a child laugh... Just taking it in (where it's needed most). 🌷 Sending gentlenesses. ✨💖✨

    1. Huh? That headline doesn't make sense. Why can't any-old-body "communicate with social media companies" whenever they want? Guess I should read the article. But, really. Weird!

    1. That title sounds like the perfect opening line of a sci fi novel (or movie title)!!
So, Bill or Catreona, how about writing it?

    1. I guess it's all relative. 91 here and we're, shall we say, uncomfortable.

    2. Yeah...temperature is one thing. Need to include humidity and dew point for a real comparison.

Alan's house: 91ºF humidity 23% (and falling) with dew point at 38º
Catreona's house: 90ºF humidity 52% and rising with dew point at 69º

A dew point over 50% means a sticky day. Add in high humidity and temp and BLEAH!

    3. Well, my "nice" means reasonably comfortable when pulling weeds in the shade with a breeze and ice water available as desired.

  8. Dad had his phone consult with the surgeon this morning.

    No prostate cancer!

The surgeon confirmed that the bladder cancer is non-aggressive and will be treated in his office, every three months. I didn't hear the treatment details.

He reported that the bladder stone was the size of an orange! Surely, getting rid of that will help Dad feel a lot better once he's fully healed.

The surgeon cleared him to drive, though warning him against yard work and heavy lifting. Told him to rest for a few more weeks.

THANK YOU to everybody for your prayers and concern♥

  9. Wikipedia [Click] The importance of the improvements to the process of iron making thought to have been made by Cort were recognised as early as 1786 by Lord Sheffield who regarded them, together with James Watt's work on the steam engine, as more important than the loss of America.
