  2. Coronavirus cases in Fresno County rose by five more people on Sunday, county health officials reported.
The total number of confirmed and presumptive positive results for COVID-19 in the county stands at 108.
Travel-related exposures remain the most common at 28, followed by community spread (24) and person-to-person contact (18). Another 38 cases remain under investigation.
The only death in Fresno County was reported Friday.

  3. The Queen's speech was magnificent, wasn't it? Very moving. Sis' observation was, "Now, *that's* leadership!"

    1. I doubt too many people are fussed that Johnson has Covid except those who have to take care of him. Now, if only Trump would get the wretched thing!

    2. An acceptable alternative would be (self administered, of course) hydroxychloroquine poisoning.

    2. I agree that Motly (I don't really care whether I spelled it correctly or not) should be fired pronto.

No doubt Bernie will have some choice words. He has been acting very presidential lately. As for Joe...Joe who? Haven't seen hide nor hair of him in weeks.

In a tragic development, Sis tells me Capt. Crosier himself now has tested positive for the virus.

  6. Wisconsin governor issues executive order to delay Tuesday’s election until June. Tuesday = tomorrow. And the order is certain to be appealed. I can't say I understand what's going on, but Ohio got away with this. Why not Wisconsin?

    2. Evers kept trying to get the Republican legislature to agree to an all-mail election. He should have known they would refuse, but didn't give up until after the special session this past weekend.

If something like this were to happen, I might consider voting for Biden (a lot would depend on his choice of running mate).

    1. There are several typographical errors in the column, but that's a minor picky.

    2. Interesting column. But the central premise is mistaken. Biden is neither electable nor safe. I'm not altogether sure he's such a good guy either, but that's not the point at the moment. Biden is electable just like Clinton was electable. conceding the nomination to him, rather than a guarantee of Democratic unity and electoral victory, will do just the reverse. Biden's not going to inch left to embrace Bernie's ideas. He's not a Progressive, a true Democrat. He's a corporate shill, a Regressive, just like Clinton. He can't beat Trump any more than Clinton could, because they, and Trump, are cut from the same bolt of cloth.

  8. Grocery Workers Are Starting to Die of Coronavirus [Click]

Fresno County now has 124 confirmed coronavirus cases, and a second related death. Lockdown to continue until further notice.

  9. The projected number of coronavirus deaths in California has come way down; the first I remember was over six thousand, now less than two thousand. New York still the worst by far, various states higher or lower than one might expect. Looks like Massachusetts is going to get hammered; be careful, Cat. US and States projections here. [Click]

    1. Thanks, Alan. I'm pretty much immured. Dad hardly ever goes out. He agreed to grocery delivery. Though he still makes brief runs to the drugstore and supermarket, he is very aware and careful. No one else in my house goes out at all, even into the yard.

He knew about the tiger in the Bronx Zoo, and found the news alarming.
