Come up higher

  1. Another GOP own-goal[Click] “The brunt of higher [medical insurance] prices would fall on solid middle-class consumers who are not eligible for the income-based subsidies. Many of those are self-employed people and small business owners, generally seen as a Republican constituency.” Coming to your state just before the election, together with increasing gasoline prices, decreased exports, increased prices on imported goods, and lack of accomplishment across the board. Among other things.

  2. I'm beginning to think we have a third world government.

"the US position aligned with infant formula manufacturers"
(What worm in the brain deliberately undermines the health of newborns?!!)
Forty years ago, when I was a breastfeeding mother and La Leche League Leader, I boycotted Nestle over this issue.
How do I boycott the US government?

  3. Washington Post headline:

Mitch McConnell pursued from restaurant by angry crowd
Angry protesters pursued the Senate majority leader through a Louisville, Ky., restaurant parking lot on Saturday, berating him with a mixture of immigration rhetoric and personal insults. By Avi Selk

There probably isn’t much money to be made by investing in tar and feathers, but what about some sort of new, convenient packaging?

  4. I think it's really unfortunate that people who presumably identify as Democrats are doing these things. It brings us down to the level of the Trumpistas.

    1. Yes, Bill, I agree. It's stupid and counterproductive. The anger is understandable and, in fact, righteous, but still, physical and verbal violence is *not* what we should be engaging in. Typical, bloody Democrats! They'll lose the advantage of the moral high ground and probably lose the midterms by these childish, vindictive displays.

    2. Moreover, the senator's an old man. He's not as spry as he used to be; and, for all his public bluster, he was probably frightened at being chased by an angry mob. And it was a mob. No matter how few people it might have been, I'm quite sure mob mentality took over. What if the senator had been injured? Nobody would remember that he was being harassed for a good reason, only that he was being harassed. Stupid, immature people, yielding to the lure of instant gratification.

I also sympathize with the temptation but do not approve of demonstrators disrupting public figures' dinners. Skuzballs though they may be, they have a right to a quiet evening out, like anyone else. And what about the innocent diners whose evening is ruined? I just don't think it's right. And, again, it's counterproductive. If people like you and me who agree with the general feeling behind these protests find them distasteful and faintly embarrassing, how much more must the other side dislike them? They hand outlets like Fox News the perfect excuse to portray us all as lawless and violent. Just exactly what we need!

    3. I agree that it is wrong to lash out in violence. But I'd be all for a non-violent means of disrupting any meal any of them have. I'm serious. How do they deserve a little peace and quiet when it is by their inaction that there is no peace and quiet for the immigrant babies and children and parents? Let them know and see and feel the fury of the people, our dogged intent, and begin to get a feel for the size of the consequences of their greed, power mongering and their deliberately not acting for the good of the people!!!

  5. Sis showed me an image... I don't know how to download images from FB, but shall investigate tomorrow. The picture showed Clark Kent on one side, labeled "Journalist" and Superman on the other side, labeled "Illegal Immigrant." Across the bottom, spanning both photos it says "Enemy of the American people." Quite effective.

Will Trump Be Meeting With His Counterpart — Or His Handler? A plausible theory of mind-boggling collusion.[Click] Where ya been, Jonny?

Note to listener: a long read, but it seems to hint at things Mueller has under wraps.

    1. Thanks for the tip, Cat!! I'll come back and read it when my eyes aren't so tired. I've been marathoning on the baby quilt and need to hit the hay! :-)
