  1. I don't know how to move pictures over here to HEP, but I just found one so hysterically funny that I'm going to have to send Cheetolini another postcard even though #IdesofTrump is over. listener, I'm going to send a postcard of it to you so you can see it for yourself.

It's a photo of Chancellor Merkel and Trump sitting side by side and Cheetolini has his head drooped down looking at his clasped hands. Somebody captioned it:

Chancellor Merkel: "What did I tell you about hiring Nazis?"
    Mango: "Not to."
Chancellor Merkel: "And what did you do?"
    Mango: "Hired Nazis."

  2. What is it with Trump and handshakes? This is getting awkward[Click]
From the comments: “I think he was freaked by Mrs Merkel. She's a powerful woman who probably wasn't sycophantic towards him. He just didn't know how to behave in her presence... so he simply sulked like the spoilt toddler he is.” Bravo! Bimbos he can deal with; the Bundeskanzerlin is the antithesis of a bimbo, as well as the antithesis of Trump.

  5. I think the examples they give are varied enough that the concept of "salon" can be extended to us. Or, in a different direction, to West Cook DFA.

"Then, on Friday, Trump met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and did it again. The public side of the summit included Trump famously refusing to shake Merkel’s hand during an Oval Office photo-op, as if he’s not satisfied with the magnitude of our national mortification…Trump is an existentially dangerous chief executive, and we have to seriously ask the question: Why is he still at large?
