What to Wear?

"It's hot enough to melt a brass monkey!"

I wonder what would melt today!

  1. It's certainly hard to argue with clear evidence! Or with Howard!

Yesterday (Monday) was pretty toasty--109 to 111 degrees depending on the part of town. And a forest fire in the mountains to the east did a trip on the air quality--by this morning (Tuesday) the air quality was downright miserable. Better by late afternoon, though. Or less bad.

  2. Here's a good read on the UK Labour Party leadership election [Click] The comparison between Sanders/Clinton and Corbyn/other candidates is inescapable; and the writing is certainly far better than what we are accustomed to in the popular press.

  3. Never going to get used to East Coast humidity. Been trying for more than fifty years now. It's still just miserable. Dang.

  5. Über-delayed, today, then detoured, off I93N in Concord NH, due to a sinkhole!! They had over 2.4" of rain yesterday and an old brick and mortar culvert gave way. So I was an hour and 40 min late for a meeting. Sigh. Long way to go to sit in bumper to bumper traffic and holding my foot on the clutch so long made it go numb!! What a mess. They shunted all the northbound traffic off at one exit, with NO detour signs and NO one directing traffic! If you were local you might know what alternate route to take. But being from away meant I had no idear how to get to my destination! My iPhone navigator offered just ONE route and kept wanting me to make a U-Turn and go back to the interstate. I had to call my husband at work and ask him what route would work. Crazy day!!

  6. By the way, on my way home after the meeting, I SAW the sinkhole! HUGE!! It took up a lane and a half of the Interstate! Amazing that no one was injured when it opened up at noon!

  7. Well, Utah's pretty much a desert. . . . I was home a while back, and everyone was complaining about the heat. Whining, really, and I was thinking Well, yes, feels like about 90º [would feel in Maryland]. Turns out, it was 116º and the hottest day on record since the Mormons arrive in 1847.
